Since we got back from our 2 week vacation things at our house have been quite boring. I got sick with a cold the day after we got home and Cambree got sick a couple days later. I am finally feeling better and Cambree is still working on feeling better. We've pretty much been stuck home for the last 2 weeks and I am so sick of being sick.
So what do we do when we don't feel good? Well I made a new bread recipe that turned out fabulous. My cute sister in law, Kattie showed me how and I am so thankful she did because we are all in love with our homemade bread.
I gave Cambree some yogurt yesterday, walked away for a minute and came back to this...
Just lovely.
Oh, and we've been trying to get Cambree back on her bedtime routine. She thinks that since she slept with us on vacation, that's what she needs to do at home as well. So every night she climbs in our bed and says "Night, night." She pulls the covers up and snuggles right into our bed. It's pretty cute, but not cute enough for her to sleep with us.
Finally today Cambree and I got out of our house in 2 weeks and actually did something. We went down to the Zoo for the day with my friend Cortney and her 3 kiddos.
Cambree and I in front of the elephants. She doesn't look to happy but she actually was thrilled to be out of our house and at the zoo.
Playing with the water might be her favorite part!
Thanks Cortney for the fun day at the zoo! I can't tell you how relieved I am that we are feeling better.

We're having TWINS!
I have always wanted my kids to be 2 years apart. I think it's because Karly is 2 yrs older than me and Chelsie is 2 years younger than me. So in December we decided it was time to get off birth control. I thought it would take us a while to get pregnant since it was my 2nd pregnancy and all. But just like Cambree our first try and we were pregnant. We were really surprised it happened so fast again. I was nervous that I would be sick on the cruise, but thankfully I was nauseated at times but not too bad.
We went to our first appointment when we were 7 weeks along. As you can see the baby is really small and you could only see one. The circle next to the baby is the sac.
We told our families by dressing Cambree up in this shirt...

Everyone was really happy and excited for us.
Because we were on vacation we missed our next appointment 4 weeks after our first appointment. So it turned into 6 weeks later because my doctor went on vacation the week we got back. So last night when we went to our appointment I was 13 weeks.
When she was looking at our ultra sound, she smiled. I was trying to figure out why she was smiling. I thought "Maybe she knows the gender of the baby?" and then she said the words that changed everything "Your having twins!" Um....WHAT? I asked her if she was serious because it was impossible since we don't have twins on either sides of our families. She replied "I don't joke about having twins." So now I needed the proof. But there was only one problem, I couldn't stop laughing, I was in shock. I told her she had to give me a minute since I couldn't stop laughing.
Laughing is probably a weird response, but it's better than crying. I'm really excited. Benton and I both cannot even believe it. This is the craziest thing that has ever happened to us. Our due date is September 25th but my doctor said she wouldn't let me go past 38 weeks which puts us around September 10th.
I feel like we have so much more planning to do now. I was ready for one baby, two is really unexpected. We both can't wait and are ready for the challenge. I'm in love with my twins already!

I will keep you all updated on our progress. We can't wait to be a family of 5 this year!

My quilt
While Benton and I were living in Illinois we decided I should find a hobby, something that I loved doing just for me. Well we found out we were moving back to Utah, so I held off on finding my hobby. Once I was settled back in Utah, I decided to take a quilting class and see if it's something I liked doing. I started in the middle of September and went to class each week for about 6 weeks. I took my class in Sugar House at Pipers Quilts & Comforts.
The first night we practiced and made our first square. I didn't end up using this square as a part of my quilt since I used a different pattern but it turned out pretty cute.
I hadn't realized how much cutting and organizing went into quilting. Our teacher told us to find a pattern from a book or the internet and she'd help us figure it out. Well I didn't realize that I had picked a really difficult pattern especially for a first time quilter. She reassured me we could do it, but I would just need to be really organized. For me that's easy, I'm all about organization so it worked out really well.
My pattern told me to pick out 28 different fat quarters (pieces of material) for my quilt. It was so much fun, since there were so many cute patterns to choose from.
Here's an idea of how complicated my pattern was...
Once I had the fabric and I had a plan, I begin cutting.
There also is a lot of ironing that takes place...
Once all cut and organized i began sewing together the rows.
Once I began sewing the pieces together I didn't get any more pictures of the process. Once I had all the rows sewed together, I took it to the quilters who stitched the back, the batting and the front of the quilt together. I didn't realize they didn't bind the edges, so I got the quilt back in the middle of November and had it siting in the closet until this past week.
Thanks to my cute friend Danielle, who kindly let me come along to her grandmas house who showed me how to bind it together. I figured it wouldn't take long to do, boy was I wrong. It took a good 6 hours to finish, but it was well worth it!
Now the finished product! I made this cute quilt for Cambree, something I could pass along to her and hopefully she can give to her daughter one day.
Front of the quilt...
Back of the quilt...
Close up of each side...
I'm in love with it and I am so happy I made something so meaningful for Cambree. Now I need a sewing machine so that I can continue on this new found hobby!

Last few days...
Saturday was our last day at sea, which we decided to take it easy. Cambree still had a temperature, a molar was trying to come through which made her fever.
Cambree as you can see was exhausted.
Later that afternoon we decided to go sit out by the pool. I ordered a drink, which Cambree took control of.
Doesn't this look relaxing? I took this from our balcony.
On Sunday we woke up to Galveston, Texas. As you can see it wasn't the weather we had been experiencing.
Cambree still woke up grumpy, I felt so bad for her. She would hold onto her mouth, and as you can tell she was in pain.
All 26 met upstairs to wait till our number was called to debark from the ship.
We distracted her by making scuzzy faces.
She thinks it's pretty funny when she gives us a mean look!
Benton and I stayed with Kattie's family until we flew out on Tuesday. The Maughan family had the same idea, so we had a household full of family.
One morning I woke up because Cambree was sleeping with us and it was a little uncomfortable. I came back in the room to check on her and she was sleeping upside down next to Benton.
At the airport Benton and I flew different airlines, so I had the opportunity to entertain Cambree again. I must say being at the airport with her is one of my least favorite things. Thankfully they had a yummy donut store we could enjoy to pass our time.
Once home and in the car, she finally fell asleep. Vacations are tiring!
Thanks again Linda and Tony! We really enjoyed our time all together. We love you guys very much!
