This past week I watched an episode of Oprah. They were talking about the seriousness of talking/texting while driving, the statistics SHOCKED me! They said that if you are talking on your cell phone while driving your 4 times as likely to get in an accident, which is the equivelent of driving drunk. Did anyone else know this? I felt awful, because I do it everyday and I obviously do not agree with people who drive under the influence. So I am just as bad as they are...not good. I don't use a bluetooth or anything, but they said that it is still as dangerous, because your brain can't take in that much information while driving, so nobody can say "Well I'm not holding on to my phone while driving at least, I have 2 free hands." It doesn't matter, your still not paying attention.
If you text while driving your 8 times as likely to get in an accident, so it's worse to text while driving than driving drunk...can you believe that? I don't text and drive so that makes me feel a little better. So one of my goals this year is to not talk on the phone while driving, I think it's going to be really hard, but I have to think of it this way, "Is the conversation worth more than someone's life?" The answer is NO. I know I can wait to talk to my friends/family til I am off the road....so don't be offended if you are driving and I tell you to call me when you arrive at your destination. This is a hard goal because I love to multitask, but obviously so do other people and they end up hurting or killing those who didn't do anything wrong. Gees, what an eye opening show!

He really should retire....
On Friday night I got a call from the Fitness Center on HAFB, saying that Benton had been in an accident and I better drive up to get him to take him to the ER. My stomach seriously rolled, not knowing the extent of what had happened...you really shouldn't drive when you are scared. I got to the gym with firetrucks, police cars and ambulances outside, I seriously thought he must be dying. Benton had refused an ambulance ride to the hospital and was patiently waiting for me. I guess when he was playing BASKETBALL somehow his finger completely turned the opposite direction it should, making his skin rip in half...they thought part of his bone had come out of his index finger. Yuck! We went to the ER where they did x-ray's confirming that his finger was not broken and shouldn't need surgery. I felt horrible, he was in so much pain, I was starting to feel sympathy pain because my body was hurting for him. Two hours later we left the ER, all stitched up and in a splint that he has to wear for the next 2 weeks. He has to go to a follow-up appointment with an Orthopedic Surgeon to make sure everything is healing correctly. I'm thinking he needs to give up basketball, does anyone else remember what happened 1 year ago from him playing Basketball? Well let me remind you, he tore his ACL and had to get knee surgery, I'm thinking he just isn't made to play basketball like he wants to.
Here are some icky photos of his injured finger, I hate blood, YUCK!

Confession~
It happened! After 19 months of no sweets came to an end last week....I gave in. I couldn't handle it anymore, this pregnancy has made me crave sweets so bad. So I finally gave in and made myself a skookie! They are so delicious, it's basically a hot cookie baked in a "Skookie pan" with vanilla ice-cream on top...it is heaven on earth. Here I am devouring this delicious treat...

It's A......
GIRL!!! We went to our 18th week appointment yesterday, how fun to found out that it's a girl! When the doctor first looked after measuring her head and belly she said she was about 85% sure that it was a girl. I asked for a photo and when she put the wand thingy back on my belly to get one, the baby kept moving around and our doctor got a shot of her right between her little legs and said nothing is poking out, so I'm pretty dang sure it's a girl. It was our first time ever seeing her move, she's always been asleep when we've gone, so it was so fun to watch her squirm around...I just giggled the whole time from happiness! I am so thrilled to be having a daughter! I know Benton's heart is going to melt with having a little girl, I'm sure she'll get spoiled by her daddy! I couldn't get our 2 pictures from our visit to load, so I will as soon as I can figure it out...but just for fun, here's my first pregnancy shot, I'm 16 weeks in this picture!
We go back in 4 weeks for our 3D ultrasound, we can't wait!
