We moved in the end of July and have not looked back. It was a bit scary moving an hour away from our comfort zone. We've mostly lived in Davis County, so to move to Wasatch County was a little bit scary.
It's been 3 months now and I am in LOVE. We seriously have the best neighbors ever. I could not ask for more. I was worried about meeting friends. It's hard when I don't work outside the home, or go to church. How and where do women meet each other? Thankfully my neighbors were quick to introduce themselves and invite me to lunch. I now see them almost daily. I have never felt comfortable asking a neighbor for an egg (except you barb!), or to watch my kids for a minute and that's the opposite here. I love how friendly and open they have been with myself, my kids and Benton. It has made our move that much easier. I think we are going to just keep loving it more and more.
I am also loving our new home. It was built this year and we are the first owners. We've always bought older homes, so this was a different process. And so far I can't complain about anything about our new home. I just love everything about it. We bought it when it was being completed but we didn't have to pick any finishes out since they were already picked out. We ended up having the builders completely finish the basement and we are grateful we agreed upon that. The kids also are loving it. We have done quite a bit already since we moved in. We had to put in our yard, added a cement pad on the side of our house, put shutters in upstairs and blinds downstairs and we added storage shelves to the garage and a storage room in our basement. We are finished and are loving the outcome of our home. It's perfect for us and we hope to stay here for a long time. And yes, it was snowing today when I took a picture of our front yard.
So here's a bit about our house and some pics! The upstairs has a mudroom/laundry room, 2.5 baths, 3 bedrooms (including our master), family room, dining room and the kitchen.
The basement has a family room, 3 bedrooms, a full bath and storage rooms.
I thought I would miss our old backyard because it was so huge, but we are loving our new yard. A lot less maintenance.
And the view is spectacular. Mornings, afternoons and evenings. It never gets old.
And that's it! We are loving our new home and can't wait to celebrate the holidays together in it!
