Benton had to attend a conference in Las Vegas for a week for work. So we decided instead of him flying, he could rent a car and drive me and the girls down to stay with his mom who lives in Beaver Dam, Az. It's right in between St. George and Mesquite. We loaded up our tiny rental, which was packed to the rim with all luggage and got away from the cold weather to the nice warm weather of Southern Utah.
Let me tell you, we kept busy the whole entire time and I know Linda and Tony will need at least a week to recover from all the chaos. We also had to bring our dog, Roxy which Cambree didn't mind.
Linda has access to a heated pool which we took advantage of a couple times while visiting. It kept both girls busy and happy.
One day we drove into Las Vegas to go shopping at the Outlets. After about 5 hours of shopping the girls, Linda and myself were more than done. Since we couldn't fit my double stroller into our rental car, Linda rented this bus to take the girls into the different shops. Let's just say it wasn't very practical.
After shopping, we met up with Benton to go to dinner. However both girls were zonked the moment we got in the car.
We spent some time up in Snow Canyon. If you've never been, it's gorgeous. Red rock mountains, black lava rocks, cactus, and sand. It's really something to see.
We stopped and bought them bowels and spoons to play with since sand toys are out of season. They didn't care, they loved just playing in the sand.
They were beyond spoiled the whole time. Grandparents really are the best. I really miss mine but I'm glad my girls get to grow up with not just 4 grandparents but 6. They are so loved.
We found a park to play at for a couple hours. Don't you love Addie's new converse shoes?! Linda bought them for her and I can't stand how cute she looks walking in them!
The night before we left, Tony drove me to Las Vegas to spend the night with Benton since his conference ended. It has been WAY too long since we've had a night without our girls. We made the most of it by relaxing, browsing around stores and going out to dinner. We had a wonderful night. And I couldn't be more proud of Benton. He has been studying for a couple months to get certified and one of the things he did at his conference was to take a couple tests. He took three IBM Database tests. He took his first test and PASSED! Then he took the advanced version and PASSED! And after being at the conference and attending sessions he decided why not try taking the test of what the next level or the newer version which has just been released and he of course PASSED!!! These tests are not easy and I am beyond excited for him. He amazes me daily how smart he is. Congratulations Benton, I love you so much!
We had a great time visiting with Nanny Linda and Papa Tony. Hopefully we'll come visit again soon! Love you guys!
