Jackson Hole

Friday morning we dropped Cambree off to Chelsie's house, which was really hard for me. Benton kept saying "Maybe we should just take her with us?" I was firm and told him that we've never left her before and that we needed to go on a trip just the two of us. I of course cried when we left. But once we were on our way I was doing much better.

The drive up to Jackson was really pretty. We drove through multiple National Forest's that had gorgeous views of the mountains.

I love the atmosphere in Jackson Hole. We arrived in about 30 degree weather which made the little city feel romantic. It was kinda nice having really cold weather knowing when we got back home it would be spring again.

We had bought our 3 night stay online with Groupon. This trip was our Christmas present to each other. Our hotel was located right downtown, within walking distance of everything. We were really pleased with our purchase.

On Friday night after we settled into our hotel and after I took a little cat nap we decided to go out for dinner and a movie. We went to Bubba's BBQ, Benton and I split the rib dinner, which was pretty tasty!

We went and saw the Hunger Games. I read the books and loved them and actually had already seen the movie but I was up to see it again. Benton hadn't read the books, which didn't matter because he enjoyed the movie as well.

On Saturday we decided to walk around downtown Jackson. The shops are so cute, it was fun to just wander in and out of each shop.

We of course had to get our pictures by the antlers...

That afternoon we just relaxed in our hotel room. Benton watched some of the Masters while I read a book. It was nice being able to recharge ourselves. I think every couple needs time away from their kids to reconnect. As well as time away to appreciate what we have in our lives.

On Easter Sunday we went to brunch at Cafe Genevieve. It was our favorite meal of the whole trip!

Benton got Cajun Style Eggs Benedict, which he LOVED!

The rest of our Sunday was to lay around and do nothing. And that's what we did. I was able to take a good nap while Benton enjoyed watching The Master's. That night we went and saw 21 Jump Street, we thought we might as well see a couple movies while we could.

I woke up at 7am on Monday morning, ready to go home and get our baby girl. Chelsie called to let us know Cambree had a fever of 103.6 and that she was saying "I want Mama." which of course broke my heart. I couldn't wait to see our teething little girl.

Thanks Chelsie for watching Cambree, I know she enjoyed spending the weekend with you guys. Also, thanks Benton for the fun getaway. I love you so very much!

I love Jackson and Bubba's the best BBQ ever!

What a great time for you two, you better take all the chances you can get for a little getaway. I have a feeling once little twins are here, that might be a bit harder!

I absolutely love Jackson. I have so many great memories of that place, so great that the two of you could get away together.
