On Tuesday Cambree woke up smelling like throw up. What we didn't know was the next 48 hours would be so awful that I couldn't even imagine it.
Did you know that the stomach flu is contagious for 3 days up to 2 weeks after you have the flu? Even if you feel better you are still contagious. I unfortunately did not know this piece of information and wish I had. My sisters family had it last week and I had them over for dinner on Sunday which was their 3rd day and we still caught it.
Poor Cambree woke up on Tuesday morning feeling really sick. Thankfully she only threw up twice and didn't have any diarrhea. I stayed home with her all day. We watched a couple movies, one of my favorites is Harry and the Henderson's. I know, a perfect movie for a 17 month old, but she is always looking at the cover :)
I went in her room to see what she was doing and as you can see she was busily reading this book to herself...
Once she saw me, she gave me this big smile...
On Wednesday Benton and I both woke up with horrible stomach aches. Around 4:30pm I started throwing up, and Benton started an hour before me. We only have 1 bathroom which is unpleasant when both of us are running back and forth to the restroom. We were both so seriously sick that we couldn't even walk to our room. Yes, we were laying in the hallway waiting for our turn to go in the bathroom. Poor Cambree just roamed our house. Benton fed her a hot dog for dinner. I honestly have no idea how he was able to do it. That night we both slept horrible. I think we got about 4 hours of sleep, with running to the bathroom and body aches it was too hard to get any rest. Thankfully yesterday it was over. We both were really nauseous, so we took it easy and laid around all day.
Since we didn't leave our home all week, we had to find other fun things to do. Like enjoying our heater!
My advice for you all, if you know someone who has the stomach flu...STAY AWAY. I cannot remember being that sick, it was horrible.

I am so sorry that is the worst feeling in the world when both of you are sick. Seems that happens to Eric and me every time get sick within hours of each other and then nobody is up to taking care of the kids. Makes for a horrible day.
It's quite depressing thinking this is the first of cold and flu season. I hate that about this time of year. Someone is always sick!
Holy cow, that sounds BAD!!!! I didn't know it was that contagious for so long. I had a girls night with some friends the week before our vacation a few weeks ago and one of them had strep throat the day or two before we were having our girls night. She originally said she wasn't going to come, then miraculously she said she felt better the next day "and wasn't contagious". I had to be the bad guy... she asked if we would mind her coming and I said, yes. With our trip being within a week I would HATE to have it ruined at the last minute. How did she know she wasn't contagious anymore anyway? Especially when she felt so bad just the day before? Anyway - that's a random story - and I'm glad you guys are feeling better, I bet that was a site to see with you and Benton taking turns for the bathroom and sleeping in the hall!
