Chicago!

On Sunday we ended up driving and staying the night in Chicago. You're probably thinking, again? Yes, we did it again! There are so many sites we still haven't seen yet, so we thought why not?

Our first stop was at Millennium Park. There is a sculpture called the Cloud Gate, everyone in Chicago calls it "The Bean". The sculpture's surface reflects and distorts the city's skyline. Inspired by liquid mercury, it is among the largest of its kind in the world, measuring 66-feet long by 33-feet high.

Next we ended up walking up and down Magnificent Mile, it's a mile long of stores, you name it they have it. It was seriously hot! We had sweat just dripping off of us, I know pretty gross. The humidity just makes you feel so sticky, not very much fun. So we walked into a lot of stores, not necessarily to look at anything but to enjoy their air conditioning :)

We stopped at The Grand Lux Cafe. I was so excited for dinner. My friend Megan, who lives in Florida has talked about how this restaurant is better than The Cheesecake Factory. In my mind I couldn't understand how it could be possible, but my friends it was all divine! So if at any time you find yourself by the Grand Lux Cafe, go taste for yourselves how spectacular the food is.

They have baked to order desserts which take 30 minutes to prepare. So you order it with your entree. We ordered the Molten Chocolate Cake, it has a melted chocolate center, served with vanilla ice cream, so yummy!

We decided to end the night and walk back to our hotel which was in the center of downtown. It was nice being able to walk everywhere instead of trying to find parking. Cambree was exhausted and so excited to sleep in our king bed with us!

The next morning we did what I've been dying to go do in Chicago. A boat tour of the river and Lake Michigan. There are so many neat buildings it was fun to hear about their history.

Did I say how hot it was? In fact we found out when we were leaving their was a heat advisory until this Saturday due to how hot it is here. So we decided to end our short trip with some deep dish pizza, so of course we stopped at Giordano's!

Cambree taking a very important call...

We left at 1pm and since Cambree hadn't taken a nap yet she seriously zonked out in the first 2 minutes of putting her in the car.

You guys do the absolute funnest things. I am so jealous of all you have seen and done. Yuck about the heat though, I actually heard about the heat wave on the today show. Sounds kinda miserable. All of your food sounds divine, I hate to say it but the food is always my favorite part about vacation. haha, I like my food. Sound like a great little overnighter!

Love Cambree's face in the picture of her eating the cake and ice cream, it's so perfect!

And I laughed when you said Benton rolled his eyes at miss Cambree's birthday picture attire. It's so cute on her, she looks like a little doll. Why don't men just ever understand us girls!
