Sick little one...

Last Thursday around noon Cambree came down with a temperature. I gave her medicine to try to lower it. Well Friday morning she woke up and it was still there and was 104.3, so we drove to the doctors office at 8am to see if they could squeeze her in. The luckily did, so we didn't have to go to Insta care, the doctor saw her and had us go to the hospital to run tests. Once at the hospital they tested her blood, then she had a catheter put in her to see if she had a UTI. She didn't have enough urine in her bladder so they had to leave it in her till she did, which took about 1.5 hours before they could remove it. It was so sad hearing her cry, the poor thing just felt awful.

Thank goodness I didn't have to do it all alone, Benton took off work to be with us. The tests all came back normal, so they gave her a shot in her thighs of anti-biotic and sent us home.
Here she is in the car while Benton ran in to the grocery store to fill a prescription, all tuckered out...

And at home, enjoying cuddling in bed with mom and dad with a nice cold wet washcloth to help cool her down...

Cambree's fever didn't break till this morning. Boy was it a long 72 hours! It was so hard to see her in pain. The hardest part was there wasn't anything I could do about it. Pretty much all weekend long we snuggled and took naps. Thankfully she's feeling much better today. Hopefully she doesn't get sick like that again for a long time!

7 Months Old!

Our little Miss turned 7 months old last week, oh how the time passes quickly! Here are some things about Miss Cambree...

~She doesn't quite crawl just yet, she is a roller. It's seriously funny. She rolls from room to room. At first I was a little nervous since we have wood floors, but she's learned to watch her head when she rolls, it's almost like she knows that it will hurt if she doesn't protect her head...smart girl!

~No teeth either, I've thought for the past month and a half that there was a tooth coming in, nothing yet. I actually LOVE her without teeth, I think her little gums are so cute.

~She still isn't sleeping through the night, I've been a bad mom and have nursed her when she wakes up in the night...I just love cuddling with her! But now it's not a good thing, so I'm trying to work on her sleeping habits. She is still taking 2.5 naps a day, a long nap in the morning and afternoon and then one again around 5:30 which only is about a 30 minute nap.

~She pretty much is only nursing. I know, I'm horrible...this past month I've worked really hard at feeding her baby food. She eats baby food about 4 times a week, but this past week I've tried to at least once a day. I just love nursing so much that it's hard for me to not do it. So far she loves sweet potatoes and prunes. Hasn't really cared for green beans, peas, bananas, or apples...we'll have to work on those!

~She loves to talk, she says mama...but I think it's only coincidence, I doubt she's actually talking to me...but I still think it's darling.

~When she gets excited she wrinkles her little nose up and tries to clap and she squeals.

~I think she might have separation anxiety. When I walk out of the room she cries, as soon as I pick her up she stops...spoiled is all I can say. It's even so bad that sometimes when Benton holds her she cries and reaches for me, I know it's because we are together 24/7...I really need to get around people and soon!

~Cambree laughs a lot, she is a very happy baby. Here are the things she loves... playing peek a boo, loves music, bath time, watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, playing with her toys, riding in the car, and of course her mommy and daddy!

My life wouldn't be the same without her and I wouldn't want it any other way. She is our angel baby.

Land of Lincoln

We drove to Springfield our state capital to look at the sites. First stop Lincoln's tomb. Confession, I LOVE looking at different historical sites, but I don't care too much about reading and researching them. I am horrible at remembering dates and specific things about history but if I can see them in person, I jump at the chance. Maybe, I understand and remember things better visually? Anyways, I was really excited to go to Lincoln's Tomb, I went when I was younger but didn't remember it and it was nice for Benton to see it as well. Here is the outside of the building, they have a front entrance where visitors enter and a back entrance which your not allowed to enter...

Supposedly if you rub Lincoln's nose it gives you good luck, as you can tell he's given good luck to many visitors...

President Lincoln is buried here in this tomb, there is a memorial site in Washington as well but his body is here in a cement vault 10 feet below the surface of the burial room...

Afterward we went to lunch at Charlie Parker's Diner, it looked like a whole in the wall, but the food was pretty good...

She makes me happier than I knew I could be, being a mommy is the best!

New Year here we come!

Happy New Year everyone! I am so excited to begin 2011! We had huge changes in our lives in 2010...Benton graduated from college, we had our little Miss Cambree, I dropped down to a 20 hour position at America First, quit my job and moved across the country to Illinois...can't imagine what 2011 will hold for our family!

I really enjoyed our New Year's, it's always nice having Benton home for 3 days in a row. On New Year's Eve we relaxed at home in the morning and then we left to go out to lunch, on our way to lunch Dave (my father in law) called me asking how it was here...I said good, rainy but fine...how come? I guess there was a tornado warning in effect til later that night...whoops...we had no idea...here we were driving around, going out to lunch...obviously we need to listen to the news! We made it safe and sound to lunch, and it was really yummy!

That night we stayed home and I made homemade pizza. One of the best things about staying home is being able to cook and try new recipes...this one turned out pretty tasty...

On new year's day we ended up driving about 2 hours away to a city named Sandwich (interesting, I know) we drove their to go to a dealership to look at a truck. We've been considering selling my Vue for a while and after some consideration we decided to do it. Benton has wanted a truck for years, some of you may know this about him he is a truck kind of guy. I always told him after he graduated he could have a truck again, so his wish came true.

I'm really happy with our decision, it's always a hard choice at the time, but I think we both are really happy. It seats 6 so it fits 1 more person than our Vue and I LOVE having a truck for random things you may need to stick in the back!

We came home and I had time to play with my little Miss...
