Labor Day Weekend

I love holidays! An extra day off is great. I actually started the weekend off learning how to make salsa. Marie (Benton's step-mom)was so nice and showed me how. It took us 6 hours to make it, but this salsa is worth it. I never thought of how much work goes into making salsa, all the cleaning, cutting and stirring. It's not hard, just time consuming. It was really relaxing hanging out with Marie. She is so nice to me, which is really great since my parents don't live so close. It's nice to have Benton's family treat me so well. While I was there she showed me how to make homemade raspberry jam as well. I was so proud of myself. Thanks Marie!
Here's a picture of my in laws.

That same night we had the chance to hang out with Scott and Britany Beckstead. We sure do wish they lived closer, they are on their way back to California. I am so glad Scott married such a nice, fun and friendly girl. I know Benton and Scott will always be really good friends, so it's nice to be able to talk to Britany so easily.

Yesterday we went over to Chelsie's house for a BBQ. We picked up my grams to take over to her house. My grandma gave Spencer a green ball and he loved it. Look how happy he is.

Here is Chelsie and I posing for the camera.

And some more pics of all of us...

I love holidays too, no matter how small, a day to play is always great fun! I am way impressed with your salsa and jam making. That is something I have always wanted to know how to do, but have no idea where to even begin. And some how my mom just never has time to teach me, one day. I am glad you had a great weekend!

I cannot believe how big Spencer is getting! You have a couple of super-cute nephews!
Do you happen to have a extra jar or two of salsa and jam you'd like to share with your dear, dear friend?! You'll have to educate me on the art of canning. I love homemade delights, but haven't ever taken the time to learn the craft.

Holidays are always fun even rainy cold ones. I want to know how to make salsa. Souli's mom makes it its good. Her's looks pretty easy though. You look cute in those pictures. I also like to make jam I still want to this year, there just never is enough time. I know that sounds weird since I'm home all the time but kids keep you busy even if one is still in my belly.

Holiday weekends are the best, although we did absolutely nothing this year. Oh well...wow Scott Beckstead, I haven't seen him in forever. How nice that him and Benton are still friends, I always thought Scott was so very nice. I also remember that his birtday is Jan 29, which is a day after mine. Don't ask me how I remember that.

I remember Scott too! He definitely was a nice kid with good grammatical skills and super strong! :) Thanks for having me and Brittany over the other day. We had a lot of fun. You and Benton should come visit us in San Diego.
