Happy 4th of July!

We started our 4th of July celebrations on the 3rd, since that's when North Salt Lake does their fireworks. We only bought sparklers and Pop It's.

Cambree was pretty impressed with the sparklers...

 

 

We ended up going early to get a good spot to see the fireworks but realized we should have brought a game or something to entertain ourselves. We spoiled ourselves and got a slushy which was pretty yummy.

 

We took a few pictures, which took a whole minute.

But by 9:30pm Cambree was saying to us "Night night time?" She was ready for bed, laying down on us and asking us to "tickle tickle back?" she loves when Benton tickles her back, I don't blame her. Thankfully she stayed up to see the fireworks. We didn't know how she would respond since this was the first year we took her and she really enjoyed it. She kept saying "Sooo pretty".

On the 4th we went down to help my parents unload a small U-Haul. Why you ask? Well my parents moved back from Georgia. I have been so excited to have them back not only in Utah but within driving distance where I can say "I'm coming over, see you in 30 minutes." Ever since I have been married, I've never been able to just drop by my parents house for dinner, to visit, anything. So this is going to be nice for me but our kids so they can actually know their grandparents on my side of the family.

And of course Miss Cambree. Her headband had fallen off and as you can tell Benton put it back on for her. Not exactly how I would have done it but it worked, we were kinda making fun of her hair and you can tell by her facial expressions she wasn't sure what we were talking about...

 

 

 

After lunch we came home, Cambree and I both took naps...which was really needed.
Benton and I decided on a whim to take Cambree to her first movie, Brave. She was a perfect angel. She sat on our laps the whole time and didn't make one peep.

We made muddy buddies for a get together with our neighbors and I let Cambree have the spatula. She quite enjoyed it by her facial expressions!

 

 

We enjoyed going over to our neighbors for a 4th of July celebration. It was fun letting the kids play, even though Cambree was too shy to leave Benton or my side.

Pregnancy Update

We had two doctor appointments this last week. On Wednesday the 27th we went to our Perinatologist and on Friday we went to our OBGYN. We really didn't find out much more information. Baby A weighs approximately 2.2 lbs and Baby B weighs 2 lbs. They still are unsure if Baby B's bladder is on the outside of her body. Our doctor said he showed her images at a conference down at the University of Utah Hospital to all different kinds of doctors/specialists and that everyone was dumbfounded as to exactly what the images showed. Normally when you look at an ultrasound where the bladder is located there is only one dark spot, but with her there are three. And because we are having identical twins, it's hard to make sense of why she has some problems that the other one doesn't. Our Perinatologist is hoping we'll have more answers after we get the Fetal MRI and the Echo-cardiogram done this Friday.

I found out at my OBGYN appointment that I should plan on having a C-section, which I'm not looking forward to. Honestly, I'll do whatever I need to do to help both babies...it's just not my preference. But who knows maybe I'll be like those crazy women who love c-sections? After I left my appointment I felt really depressed. Last week was a LONG, hard week emotionally for me. Cambree had a fever from Sunday til Thursday night. It got as high as 105.9, she wasn't a happy girl...dang teeth. Because she had such a high fever I had to cancel all my plans and sit at home, which isn't good for me because then I have time to sit and think about things. I had a breakdown both Thursday and Friday nights, poor Benton. I'm crossing my fingers this week will be better.

This is Twin A. It's a side profile of her face and you can see she has her legs bent towards her face as if you were changing her diaper. Flexible little thing :)

 

Twin B has completely flipped. Her head is down, which makes me really happy because she has such limited space that they were surprised she was able to move her body like she did. And we could finally get a good shot to confirm that she really is a GIRL!

I'm in my 3rd trimester and at 28 weeks I must say I'm rather tired. I lack energy to do about anything. I mentally have to prepare myself to do something outside my home. I want to be more active and take Cambree swimming, to the park, on a walk, etc but I just don't have it in me everyday. I make it out of the house at least three times a week, which I am good with. Being pregnant with twins is so different than a singleton baby. I never really knew or considered how much harder it would be to carry more than one baby. I sleep horribly at night. It takes me at least 30 minutes once I lay down to stop breathing heavy. Poor Benton listens to me take in big breaths of air because its hard for me going from the sitting position to lying down. Our bed is covered in pillows, which is nice for me but Benton says it's rather hot. I haven't swelled yet, which is a plus. I have gained a total of 8 pounds so far, which is shocking since each baby weighs 2 pounds. I can feel them move all the time and I love it. It's fun having two babies because if one isn't moving most likely the other is. Being pregnant even during it's hard times is an amazing thing to me, I'm so glad I am able to experience it.

Our 2 Year old

We took Cambree to her Dr this past week and she looks great. She can go off whole milk now that she is 2 years old...I was wondering when that was going to happen. Here are her stats!

Weight: 21 lbs 11 oz, 5%
Length: 34.25 inches, 55%
Head: 18.25 inches, 15%

We sure do love our petite little girl!

We also got her 2 year old pictures taken a couple weeks ago and I LOVE how they turned out! She is such a stinker when it comes to pictures lately. I have a hard time making her look at the camera and smiling. Aimee from Aime Photography did a fantastic job and captured some great moments. Sunny Days!

We are so glad that it is nice weather to play outside. The weather has been perfect and we've enjoyed it so much. It's nice to have other options than just playing inside all day.

We love to play on our front deck. It's nice for me to open up our sliding glass doors and let Cambree run around in an enclosed area.

 

 

Sprinklers are going to be a favorite this summer. They can keep her busy for quite a while!

 

 

 

We woke up the other morning and found this cute baby bird just sitting on our deck. Cambree is obsessed with any kind of animal and found this to be the best thing she's seen in a while. She kept saying "Baby Bird, come here baby bird." The bird finally flew away once Cambree got a little to close to comfort for the bird. We talked about the bird all day long.

 

 

 

 

We set up Cambree's pool for her for the first time this summer and she was delighted. She couldn't believe there was a pool in our backyard after she woke up from her nap. Roxy also enjoyed it, she's obsessed with swimming.
