Miserable...

What have we been up to lately?

Cambree got a temperature that lasted all day last Wednesday till this Monday morning. It was a long 5 days! She pretty much slept all day long, it was so sad. You could tell how miserable she felt.

I took her to the doctor last Wednesday after talking to my sister Karly. I kept describing how different Cambree was acting and she reminded me that when they are acting not like they normally do when they are sick that's when you should take them into the Doctor. So I took her advice. After I had an emotional breakdown because her doctors office wouldn't let me talk to a nurse, Cambree and I went to a new doctor's office. She ended up having a sore throat and had a really high temperature. 105.6 was the hottest she ever got, it was like the life was sucked out of her. She didn't enjoy anything, she cried while eating a fudge-bar... yep, you read that right! She cried bathing, she pretty much cried unless you were holding her. So that's what we did, a lot of cuddling.

With mommy...

Thankfully she is back to her normal self! I hate it when she gets sick, I feel so helpless, hopefully since the weather is getting warmer she won't get sick for a while.

My 1st Mothers Day!

Benton bought me this pretty green amethyst ring (my birthstone is purple amethyst, but I loved this green one) and he also got me a cover for my hair straightener!

We drove to Chicago to spend our Mothers Day in the city, which was perfect! I love big cities, the buildings are beautiful. We drove around a bit to show Linda Chicago.

The Chicago Water tower was one of the only buildings that survived the Great Chicago Fire in 1871. It remains today as an unofficial memorial to the fire's destructive power. It was one of just five public buildings and one ordinary bungalow spared by the flames within the disaster zone. The fire destroyed an area about four miles long and averaging 3/4 mile wide, encompassing more than 2,000 acres. I can say they don't make buildings like this anymore, it is really pretty in person.

We also went to the Shedd Aquarium for the day. It was fun to see something new that we hadn't seen since we moved here. There were tons of fish and exhibits to explore. The Jelly Fish exhibit was one of my favorites, they are just interesting to look at.

Planet Earth in 4D was fun to see as well. I've never seen a show in 4D, it was pretty cool how they had the air blowing as if you were their in person.

We also went to an Aquatic Show, where we saw dolphins and beluga whales...they are pretty cute to watch!

We stepped outside for a snack and the background of Lake Michigan is gorgeous!

After the Aquarium we ate at Giordano's for their Famous Chicago Stuffed Pizza, it was delicious! I thought it was better than Uno's Pizza, so I'm glad we tried it!

It was a perfect Mother's Day and it was fitting to have Linda here to celebrate it with her! We love you very much, glad you were able to come visit us!

A Visitor!

My mother in law, Linda came to town and stayed with us for a week. It was so nice to have her visit and stay with us. I've always gotten along with my cute mother in law and I feel we were able to get even closer and know each other better this past week. I loved having a visitor and someone to hang out with everyday! I cannot say enough how lucky I am to have her as my mother in law, thank goodness!

Cambree really enjoyed her nanny, they were able to "bond" as Linda would say!

They quickly became friends and when Linda went to the bathroom Cambree was right behind her, just not fast enough to go inside with her...so what is a girl to do? How about peek under the door, nanny?

Benton had to work during the week so what were us girls going to do? How about going to Carl's for some ice-cream?

and when Benton got home from work we included him on our fun as well! We all went to the golf range to watch Benton and Cambree show off their skills! Benton taught Cambree that the balls go in the hole and she can pull them out, she found that fascinating...

After golf we all went to our favorite Mexican Restaurant, El Toro...yummy!

As you can see we did a lot of fun things, we tried to do at least one thing each day. As many of you know I don't like Italian food, I'm just not a fan. But we have a Biaggi's here and even though it's Italian food I knew I could find other things on the menu I enjoy! It was fun to all go out together, even though it's getting tougher with Miss Cambree. She doesn't want to just sit there quietly anymore, she's into everything, it was a little crazy :)

One night Linda volunteered to watch Cambree so Benton and I could go out on a much needed date. We've been wanting to try Reality Bites and we were able to make reservations to go out to dinner. I really enjoyed having my one on one time with Benton. He just melts my heart, he told me how much he loves me and how his love keeps growing over the years...he's just too cute!

It was such a fun week it was hard to take her to the airport and say goodbye. Hopefully she'll come back soon so we can explore some more!
