What a great Saturday! I had 2 baby showers in one day, crazy busy but SO much fun! I started off the morning with my family shower at my sister Chelsie's house, thanks sister! They had a great brunch; quiche, fruit, raspberry & orange rolls, and juice...so yummy! I got a lot of great stuff and it was great to see my aunts and cousins! My sisters and mother did a great job putting together my shower! I know how hard they worked and I could tell how much love you guys put into it. Love you guys!
I left my family shower and headed up North to my other family shower (Benton's family). They decorated Carol's house so cute and had a great lunch! I love spending time with his family, I am so blessed to have such great in laws! Everyone, my mother, father, and sister-in-laws are the best, I wouldn't ever want to switch families because I married into the best family a girl could ask for! I got a lot of great stuff and had a blast see for yourself...
Thanks everyone for all of the great baby stuff, I needed it all! Can't wait to have this baby girl, she's going to be so spoiled!

Date Night
So before we have our little girl, I'm trying to do things that we won't be able to do or at least it will be harder to do with a baby. So on Tuesday I left work early, rode the FrontRunner down to SLC to meet Benton to go on a date! We first headed to The Gateway, did a little window shopping and then made our way to the Skybox for some nacho's.
Here I am at 31 weeks pregnant...
After dinner we headed to the Engery Solutions Arena to watch the Jazz play against the Oklahoma City Thunders. I don't really enjoy watching the games on TV, however I do enjoy going to the games in person. I enjoy big crowds of people getting excited about something, and I also love to people watch. I sometimes can easily get distracted by others so I had to remind myself to watch the game. It was a really good game to go to in person, way exciting. They ended up going into overtime and won by 1 point! I'm glad I was able to go to one last game with Benton before she comes! Here are some pics from the game...

fRiEnD ShOwEr!!!
Yesterday I had my first baby shower and it was so much fun! I was a little nervous at first, since the last time I had a shower was 6 years ago, when Benton and I got married! My 2 great friends Stephanie and Liz threw the shower for me and I couldn't be happier! I had a great turn out and loved visiting with all of my friends! Thank you all who came to support our new baby girl! I'm dying to put everything together, but with our basement being remodeled, I have to put everything in her closet until the rest of the stuff is out of her room and can go back into the basement. Here are some pictures from the shower!

27 Years Already?
Yesterday I turned 27, Happy Birthday to me! My family and friends are great, I was really spoiled this year! On Monday Benton and I drove down and ate at The Cheesecake Factory, my favorite!
On my birthday Benton gave me a Garmin, it tracks my calories, heart rate, speed, and much more so I can use this when I run or cycle...I can't wait to try it out.
Since I had to work on my birthday, they treated me like a queen. I'm not one to take off my birthday unless it gives me a longer weekend, otherwise I'd probably just sit at my house, so I like to go to work and be with my friends. My cute co-worker Monica decorated my desk in flowers and polka dots, she is so crafty~ it makes me jealous. She also made my favorite cake, Betty Crocker's Rainbow Party Cake, yummy! I could eat the whole pan-it's that good! I had to take a picture of me at my desk, it's just so dang cute and springy...makes me very cheery!
Overall my birthday was wonderful, I received a lot of fun gifts that I'm excited to use. Thank you all for the birthday wishes!

Dr. Visit
Today we had our 22 week appointment, which was our big ultrasound. The Dr. said it's definitely a girl, yay! She is perfect, everything looks great. It was so fun being able to see her in 3-D. You can see so much more than a regular ultrasound. Here is a picture of her perfect face (as Benton said)...
As we were adoring her cute little face we noticed how she has my nose and were just amazed at the resemblance even though she's still so little. So while we were all discussing her and my nose she moved her hand and covered her nose, so we no longer could see it. I thought that was so funny...somehow she knew we were talking about her nose. See for yourselves...
I love hearing her heart beat and knowing all is well in my belly. She moves around a lot and can't wait till I can feel her again. Benton started being able to feel her at 20.5 weeks, which was a lot of fun! So far I love being pregnant!
And here is what I look like at 22 weeks...definitely showing....

Talking/Texting while driving
This past week I watched an episode of Oprah. They were talking about the seriousness of talking/texting while driving, the statistics SHOCKED me! They said that if you are talking on your cell phone while driving your 4 times as likely to get in an accident, which is the equivelent of driving drunk. Did anyone else know this? I felt awful, because I do it everyday and I obviously do not agree with people who drive under the influence. So I am just as bad as they are...not good. I don't use a bluetooth or anything, but they said that it is still as dangerous, because your brain can't take in that much information while driving, so nobody can say "Well I'm not holding on to my phone while driving at least, I have 2 free hands." It doesn't matter, your still not paying attention.
If you text while driving your 8 times as likely to get in an accident, so it's worse to text while driving than driving drunk...can you believe that? I don't text and drive so that makes me feel a little better. So one of my goals this year is to not talk on the phone while driving, I think it's going to be really hard, but I have to think of it this way, "Is the conversation worth more than someone's life?" The answer is NO. I know I can wait to talk to my friends/family til I am off the road....so don't be offended if you are driving and I tell you to call me when you arrive at your destination. This is a hard goal because I love to multitask, but obviously so do other people and they end up hurting or killing those who didn't do anything wrong. Gees, what an eye opening show!

He really should retire....
On Friday night I got a call from the Fitness Center on HAFB, saying that Benton had been in an accident and I better drive up to get him to take him to the ER. My stomach seriously rolled, not knowing the extent of what had happened...you really shouldn't drive when you are scared. I got to the gym with firetrucks, police cars and ambulances outside, I seriously thought he must be dying. Benton had refused an ambulance ride to the hospital and was patiently waiting for me. I guess when he was playing BASKETBALL somehow his finger completely turned the opposite direction it should, making his skin rip in half...they thought part of his bone had come out of his index finger. Yuck! We went to the ER where they did x-ray's confirming that his finger was not broken and shouldn't need surgery. I felt horrible, he was in so much pain, I was starting to feel sympathy pain because my body was hurting for him. Two hours later we left the ER, all stitched up and in a splint that he has to wear for the next 2 weeks. He has to go to a follow-up appointment with an Orthopedic Surgeon to make sure everything is healing correctly. I'm thinking he needs to give up basketball, does anyone else remember what happened 1 year ago from him playing Basketball? Well let me remind you, he tore his ACL and had to get knee surgery, I'm thinking he just isn't made to play basketball like he wants to.
Here are some icky photos of his injured finger, I hate blood, YUCK!

Confession~
It happened! After 19 months of no sweets came to an end last week....I gave in. I couldn't handle it anymore, this pregnancy has made me crave sweets so bad. So I finally gave in and made myself a skookie! They are so delicious, it's basically a hot cookie baked in a "Skookie pan" with vanilla ice-cream on top...it is heaven on earth. Here I am devouring this delicious treat...
