Merry Christmas!

The kids woke up around 7am ready to open presents!

Lincoln loved his whoopie cusion and his helicopter drone the most.

Addison loved her doll house and American Girl Doll!

And Cambree loved getting her very own hola hoop, Harry Potter books/dvd's and a ukulele.

Later that afternoon we headed to my parents house to celebrate Christmas with them!

We had a wonderful day celebrating with family.  Hope you all had a great holiday as well!

Christmas Eve

This year we went to my sister in laws, Kattie's house for dinner.  It was so fun to get together with Papa David and Grandma Marie!  It's been a long time since we spent the holidays with them and we were all so glad to be together.  Also Benton's and Kattie's Aunt Kathy and Uncle Allen came and they brought a student who is studying at college nearby who is from Africa and came to America to study.  She was so nice and interesting to talk to!  We had the best night eating, laughing and watching the kids reenact Christ's birth.

Afterwards we hurried home so we could sleep before Santa came to bring us presents!

Mr. Grinch

Lincoln is OBSESSED with Mr. Grinch.  Watches it every night before bed.  He thinks he's hilarious, and when I saw these pj's I couldn't resist.  Also in this picture he's trying to make his face look like Mr. Grinch.

Mrs. Claus

Addison had a Kindergarten gingerbread performance at school where she was Mrs. Clause!  The program was for grandparents only, however since she's so shy she begged me to come.  So of course, I couldn't say no.  And since I was going, Batman had to come as well! She did wonderful and I'm glad she asked me to come!

Cabin life

The day after Thanksgiving we decided to stay the weekend up at our cabin.  It was nice getting out of a crazy disaster that our house was in.  Also the kids were so excited to play in snow since we hadn't gotten much at our house.

On our way up we grabbed Benton's dad atv to help with plowing all the snow.  Lincoln had fallen asleep so he had no idea we grabbed it on our way.  Once we got to the cabin and Benton drove it off the trailer- Lincoln's face was in pure shock/happiness...he said so softly "Oh my dosh."  It made me laugh out loud because his reaction was so cute.

We pretty much stayed inside the cabin and watched movies, ate and played games.  And the rest of the time was playing outside in the snow!

Also I don't know who loves the snow more, the kids or Scout?

Thanksgiving!

I was horrible at taking pictures in November apparently, whoops!

Originally I was suppose to host Thanksgiving.  However our house was in disarray.  We added wood floors to a section and had to remove our furniture.  So thankfully my cute sister in law volunteered to do it at her house.

Lincoln helped me cook some dishes in the morning before we went.  I mean, how cute is my sous chef?

Addie wore her thankful hat that she made at school.  She is thankful for lots, family, friends, love, her home, and toys.

And off to the Carter's house for dinner.  Big family events are always my happy place.  I love being together with one another.  And I love how much love we all have for one another.  We are sure lucky to live so close to most of our family.

All in all it was the perfect Thanksgiving.  Hope yours was wonderful as well!

Happy Halloween!

This year we had Hermonie from the movie, Harry Potter...

Snow White...

Batman...

And a lion!

They had fun trick or treating in our new neighborhood and got tons of candy!  Benton ended up taking Lincoln and Scout home a bit earlier than us girls.  They are so sad Halloween is over, they look forward to it so much each year!

Moving is rough!

We put our house up for sale early in the Summer.  It was a hard decision but it didn't come lightly.  We had our house on the market for almost 3 months before it sold.  It was kinda crazy because we decided if it didn't sell in those 3 months then we would stay put.  We both had mixed decisions if we should stay or go but ultimately moving back to Davis County benefited our family in many ways.  Benton would commute about 45 minutes total a day instead of 2+ hours daily.  We would be much closer to all of our family members and we could do a 15 year mortgage instead of a 30 year.  All in all we hope we made the right decision.

Here's the house from the previous owners.  It's a hard house to take a pic of because there are so many trees but it's one thing that drew us in!

In the middle of October we moved.  I had forgotten how much work it is to move.  Especially with a family of 5.  We were all tuckered out for a couple weeks.

My kids call our new house, "the tree house" since their is a nice sized playroom above the garage with a cubby that has a tree painted on it.  They were excited to move to their new home and each have their own room (not in a basement).

Addie found a perfect spot for her to hang out at!

And Lincoln loves riding his bike in the driveway!

Also we decided we moved to this house at the WRONG time of the year.  Right when all the leaves fall off all the trees...we got lots of leaves to clean up!

I will post more fun before and afters of this house!  We are putting our own decorating touches to it!

Labor Day

For Labor Day we headed to Aspen Campground with our niece Breanne, her husband Chad and kids, Ryan and Bella.  We love having camping friends!!!

They had fun riding their bikes down the hill at our campground!

Cambree found wood for our camp fire one night.

We all went fishing and sadly caught nothing but it was a pretty drive!

And the kids swam at a little pond by our campsite.

It was the perfect camping trip to end the season!  Can't wait for our adventures next year!
