Quick camping trip

We usually go camping over Addie and Allie's birthday to get away. But this year we didn't have an actual plan on where we were going. We ended up camping off the side of the road on the way to Currant Creek. It wasn't ideal because there wasn't a very good area for the kids to play. When we started to unload Cambree exclaimed, "This is the worst place ever! They don't even have a table!" Obvisouly we will probably never go back but it was good to try it at least once.

Fishing is a must, and for Benton its a must the first night. They didn't catch anything but the kids liked exploring near the river and I enjoy taking their pictures!

The next day Benton and I were exhausted. Lincoln did not sleep well at all. After the horrible night we had we decided to stay the day and leave later on in the afternoon because we needed some actual sleep. So before we left we drove to the lake and unfortunately didn't catch any fish there either. The kids enjoyed themselves and did what they normally do...
Cambree fishes and plays in the water with Benton.

Lincoln eats snacks and plays with rocks.

And Addie digs in the dirt and finds special things.

Later on Benton and Cambree went for a bike ride. It's something they both enjoy doing together.

And while they were out riding around the other two played restaurant in the dirt. They were a filthy mess, a good way to end the camping trip.

It was a fast 24 hours away but we have a big camping trip planned in the next few weeks so we weren't too sad it was a bit of a disaster. The kids had fun so that's all that matters!

Visitors!

Since we had Linda & Tony in town for a few days we made the most of it. We headed out to the park and got ice-cream afterwards, one of the kids most favorite things to do!

The next day we met my mom for lunch and went shopping afterwards. Our kids LOVE all their grandparents and sure feel loved when they are around.

It was a quick visit but we love having them stay with us and we always miss them when they leave.

Early Birthday Party for Miss Addison

Since we will be camping over Addie's actual birthday we decided to throw her a party a week early. Honestly it works out great for her since she gets to party twice instead of once. She asked for a Tinkerbell/Spider-Man party and that's what she got! When she saw this Spider-Man shirt at the store, she insisted I buy it for her...how could I could resist? And she looked adorable! I love how much she loves Spider-Man and Tinkerbell!

She's a bit funny with loud noises. Always covering her ears when she thinks its a bit too loud.

Addie was so excited for her party, she was screaming with excitement and was running from here to there. And she was pretty dang spoiled!

We also did a balloon release for our Allie. I love to do something special just for her, I hope she knows how much we love and miss her. She's always with us and she deserves to be remembered as well. Love you Allie, Happy Birthday baby!

Thanks everyone for coming, you all made her day a HUGE success!

Tracy Aviary

Yesterday we met my parents at the Tracy Aviary downtown SLC. My dad retires in a month and we are looking forward to spending more time with him but we enjoyed a few hours that he took off work to spend with his grandkids. Our kids are extra spoiled around my parents- as in they can do NO wrong. They are completely spoiled and my kids love them very much. I love watching them together, it's pretty incredible. Glad we could spend a beautiful afternoon together before school starts back up!

Aspen Campground

We went camping a few weekends ago and had such a good time exploring together in the mountains. I am learning to love camping, it's still an adjustment for me but I see the joy in my kids faces and I know its worth all the hard work!

Lincoln was obsessed with throwing rocks in the river. When we told him we were leaving he was a bit upset and threw a bit of a tantrum.

The next day we drove an hour away to hike up to Alta Lake. The drive to where we started the hike was a bit scary for me but it was absolutely beautiful. It was a mile hike into the lake and the kids did awesome! We were the only people around besides the hundreds of cows roaming the mountains.

Afterwards we let the kids swim near our campsite. Cambree had been looking forward to it all day long!

The next day, I swear Benton was trying to give me a heart attack. He took me on another drive up a steep mountain. We ended up at a lake with a stream for us to fish at. The kids were so excited, Benton probably caught 50 fish but he threw them all back since they were too little to eat.

We did a fire and of course made smores! Lincoln thought he was big stuff sitting in his chair with a jumbo marshmallow!

We had the best weekend, until next time!
