The flu bug

We got home from Mesquite Sunday afternoon and early, early Monday morning as in 2:30am I got the stomach flu. Then a day later, I got the other flu; chills, cough, body aches and a fever. Let's just say last week was a rough one for me. Thankfully nobody else got the stomach flu. And on Saturday morning Addie came down with a fever, which actually wasn't too bad considering how sick I was. I'm just hoping that nobody else gets it. I still have a bit of a cough but otherwise feel better. Here's to hoping this week is better for us all!

Thanksgiving 2014

This year we drove down to Mesquite to celebrate Thanksgiving with my Mother in Law, Linda and Tony in Beaver Dam (which is 10 min away from Mesquite).

We stayed at a hotel in Mesquite and the girls thought it was pretty fun. Addie was excited to jump on the beds!

On Thanksgiving day we cooked, ate, snuggled and relaxed. It was the perfect day spent together as a family. I love the family I married into, couldn't love them more.

The day after Thanksgiving we drove to Ivins and spent the morning playing at Snow Canyon. A portion of it is sand dunes, so what kid wouldn't like to play and roll around in the sand?
Cousins seriously are the best. I just let them go off with their older cousins and play, my kids adore them all!
And of course our Allie baby was their in spirit. Saw this beautiful butterfly land on a bush near us, which brought tears to my eyes. Miss her everyday.

On Saturday morning we woke up bright and early and drove to Las Vegas. Our niece, Maddie played in a soccer tournament, so we all wanted to support her. It was so fun to see her in action, she's really talented and they've done well as a team.

Later on that afternoon after we drove back to Mesquite and took the kids swimming. It was in the 70's the whole time while we were visiting, so it was perfect to go in a heated pool for a couple hours.

We left on Sunday morning and made the trek back home. The trip couldn't have been more perfect. It was full of love and I couldn't ask for a better Thanksgiving than that. Hope yours was as lovely.

First Field Trip!

Cambree's preschool class had their first Field Trip to the Fire station. Unfortunately I think Cambree was so distracted with everything and everyone else that she didn't pay any attention to what the fireman was saying. I guess we will have to review it with her at our home in the near future. They all sure did look cute in the fireman hats though!

She LOVES school and keeps asking when she can go to the big school. She knows how to write her name by herself and can even spell it out for us (thanks to help from her daddy). She has made a couple friends, both little boys...I see trouble in our future. And she loves her teacher. I'm so glad she enjoys going to school. I love dropping her off knowing she's happy. She always blows kisses and blows hugs to me and yells "BYE BEST FRIEND!" Cutest little preschooler ever!

First snow fall of the season!

The girls were in heaven when they saw the snow falling. Cambree immediately asked if she could go play in it to build a snowman...too bad it wasn't that much snow. But they loved playing with it on our deck.

Afterwards we made hot chocolate and listened to Christmas music. And then Cambree asked if we could put our Christmas decorations out...still deciding on that one!

And so it begins...

The cold weather has finally hit us, which means we are stuck playing inside. So what do my girls do to keep busy?

Cambree loves stuffed animals. She pretty much has any animal you can think of and they all have names. And I can't remember their names, but she can. Her animals are what she plays with the majority of the time if she isn't drawing.

And Addie on the other hand is just plain trouble...getting into my lipstick while I quickly take a shower. She's going to make me crazy!

I'm hoping the girls can come up with lots to do while being stuck indoors. Wish me luck!

Lovely Fall Day

The weather here is in the 60's and today was sunny as well. I try to make sure and let the girls go play outside while the weather is still nice out. Colder weather is right around the corner!

Happy Halloween!

When we woke up and told Cambree it was Halloween she was beyond exited and then once she realized she had to wait 12 hours till she could go trick or treating she was disappointed.  She couldn't understand why the sun was coming up since she knew she couldn't go get candy until it started to get dark.  It was a long day for her but she kept saying "I will be a good example."

Halloween is Cambree's favorite holiday...well that is until Christmas comes.  Addie was the cutest little kitty cat who said "mouw" it was adorable.  And Cambree was a witch.  I actually took these pictures the day before knowing they wouldn't be able to sit still on Halloween for a picture knowing they could be out trick or treating.  It worked out well since Cambree had a Preschool Halloween Party they had to dress up for.

On Halloween Cambree couldn't sit still so she didn't let me do her hair in braids but she still was an adorable witch.  They were SPOILED!  They both got 6 full sized candy bars, a can of soda, and one of our neighbors made everyone snow cones, which by the way tasted fantastic since we went there almost last and we were so thirty from walking around for two hours.

Benton and I both agreed they have no idea how great our neighborhood is for trick or treating.  Hopefully we will live here for a while so they can keep experiencing such fun Halloween's.

Hope you all had a very Happy Halloween!
