Potty Training!

Cambree has been ready to potty train for a while, it's her mother who hasn't been ready. I finally decided to give it a try since she keeps asking me to take her to the potty. She is 2 1/2 years old this month, which is a perfect age to start the process.

My dear friend Cortney told me about a book called 3 Day Potty Training by Lora Jensen, I read it and thought why not give it a try? Basically it's to have them know they need to go on their own by reminding them to let you know when they have to go to the potty instead of asking them if they have to go. You also have to give them positive reinforcement, never negative.

Day 1...
Cambree loved wearing her new undies, she's such a show off!

Addie was happy just to sit home and relax.

She had a couple accidents but overall did a really good job. I was also proud of myself that I stayed positive throughout the whole day.

Day 2...
She had a lot more accidents than day 1. Boy was I happy when the day was over with.

Day 3...
She only had 2 accidents.

Since then we have gone on errands and she hasn't had an accident. She hasn't worn diapers since last Wednesday. She hasn't had an accident once at night, which is strange to me because she never woke up with a dry diaper and now that she's wearing underwear she can hold it all night long?

We are so proud of our little girl. I'm happy to report we only have one child in our home wearing diapers now! Yay Cambree!

Weekend Getaway

Before we went on our weekend getaway we left Cambree with my parents & Chelsie. Cambree has had a cold which means she becomes like a different two year old. She gets really whiny and clingy. I was hoping her cold would be gone before we left but unfortunately it wasn't. This is what she looked like the morning we left, not sure what happens to her hair while she sleeps?

After we dropped her off we drove up to Park City and stayed at The Hyatt Escala Lodge, it was such a pretty resort. It was right by The Canyons, so we could see all the skiers.

We were able to do some Christmas shopping and some much needed relaxation.

It snowed all day Saturday which was pretty magical when you have no where to go.

Benton chose Bandits Bar & Grill for his birthday dinner.

It was so nice to spend 2 nights away from home and spend some needed time together. I was thrilled when Benton left his work phone, laptop & I Pad at home. He works so much that he needed some time just for himself.

Happy 30th Birthday babe. I adore you so very much. And I hope you had a great time this weekend. You are the best dad to our girls and such a wonderful husband to me. We love you with all our hearts.

Girls Weekend!

Aimee picked me up early Friday morning to spend the next 28 hours away from home. It has been a really long time since I left Benton & Cambree at home.

Excited to be on our way!

It was my niece, Maddie's 16th birthday celebration. She had 7 of her closest friends come up to spend the night. This was the first time Maddie ever met Addie.

We hung out with the girls for a couple hours. Oh what it would be like to be 16 again. I just sat back and cuddled my little sweetness and remembered what it was like when I was a teenager. I LOVED my teenage years but I am enjoying the current time in my life being a mommy to my girls.

Aimee & I had accomplished a lot of shopping as well as going to see Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2. Addison was so tired, she didn't take very good naps during the day. She slept really good all night and throughout the next day to catch up on her beauty sleep.

On Saturday morning we of course had to do a mini photo shoot. I have the best sister in laws ever, love you both! However we did miss two of our favorite girls Kate & Rachelle, wish they lived closer.

I'm happy to report most of my Christmas shopping is done. I was so happy to spend the night away from home but I was so happy to see Benton & Cambree when I arrived home.

I mean who wouldn't miss this cute face?

Decorations

Christmas is such a fun time of year to decorate around the house. Of course my favorite is putting up our Christmas tree. I love sitting by the glittering lights.

This year we decided to get a tree for Cambree hoping she would play with her tree instead of the family tree. It was so much fun listening to her while decorating her tree.

I gave her the tree skirt and she then proceeded to put it around her waist. I obviously didn't make it clear that it was to go under the tree because when I told her it was a skirt for the tree she took it off her little body and put it on top of her tree.

When I turned on the lights she was thrilled. She then tried to blow out all of the "candles". I tried explaining to her they were lights and that she wouldn't be able to blow them out. I love her little mind.

She was so excited about having a tree in her room, that she kept hugging it.

My tree needs to be updated, I'm hoping to find some decorations after Christmas to change it up for next year. But it will do for now ;)

My favorite decorations are those of our babies. I love seeing their sweet faces on our Christmas tree, I think they'll always be my favorite decorations.
