Island Park

We planned a trip the beginning of this year with The Earl family (Benton's sister) and the Sanders Family (our niece)!  Our kids have the best time with each other and they loved camping within walking distance of one another.

We were able to walk to the river and let the kids play (supervised of course).

We all headed to Yellowstone for the day.  We ended up splitting up because it was a bit too hard trying to stay all together.  But we all saw some amazing wildlife and nature.

My favorite part was just being able to relax and hang out.  I'm pretty sure that's what my kids favorite part was as well!

And we all know Benton's favorite part of camping, fishing!

I love the Summer months and being able to explore.  Also I love our families and being able to fun stuff like camping together!

Fairy Land

Since we've lived in Heber, I've heard of a little place in the Uinta's called Fairy Land.  My mom came up for the day so we decided to go see what it was all about!  I had no idea that off a little path was so many fairy gardens people have made through the years.

The kids had so much fun looking at everything.  My mom brought a couple fairies to find a good spot to live.  Addie was disappointed she didn't actually see a real fairy flying around. We assured her that they don't want people to see them so they hide from humans.  I love her little imagination!

We live in such a beautiful place!  It's pretty crazy to me!

Summer Days!

We spent the morning with my parents at the Natural History Museum!  I love that they make such an effort to spend time doing activities with my kids.  I know my kids love spending as much time with them as they can!

Afterwards we headed to my brothers lush apartment to swim!  My kids basically had the whole pool to themselves and they were in heaven! Thanks Tom for a great afternoon!

Rest of our trip

The last few days of our trip in Star Valley, we spent with just our own family exploring around the mountains nearby.

We headed up to Murphys Lake for the day to play in the water and fish!

The next day we headed out to go fly fishing up in the Little Greys River.  Benton is teaching Cambree how to fly fish on her own.  She looks ADORABLE in her wadders!

We had the best break spent in the mountains with our favorite people!  I'm so glad I can call each of these people mine.  Hope you all had a great 4th of July week!

Happy 4th of July!

Our new tradition here on out is to celebrate the 4th of July in Star Valley.  We were so glad Benton's sister, Kattie and her family could join us for the festivities this year!

They had a bike parade and golf cart parade which only lasted 10 minutes (perfect amount of time) where the kids got bags of candy.  Then afterwards they had a bunch of activities for the kids to do.  They divided the races into age groups so that all kids could play.  Addie wouldn't race, she said she was too shy.  So she sat on the side and watched.

I was really proud of Lincoln for racing, you could see his fear in his face but he did such a good job and he won 1st place for the fastest runner in his age group!

Afterwards they had a carnival where they gave away free popcorn, snow cones and cotton candy.  It was so much fun for all the kids, and they won a bunch of prizes and had the best time!

That night we headed to Jackson Hole and watched the fireworks, it really was such a fun day with such a fun group on kids!

Star Valley Ranch

Cabin life is good.  We spent 9 days and it was so relaxing.  It was so nice for Benton to take a week off of work and do the things he loves.  We spent our days sleeping in, fishing, golfing, hiking, eating good food, playing games, watching movies, riding bikes and catching up on things we needed to fix in the cabin.

Who doesn't like to hit golf balls?

We found the prettiest fishing spot up Swift Creek! The water was a beautiful teal color.

Lincoln loves to fish and touch them so much that when Benton released the fish, Lincoln cried his eyes out.

We took a hike to Intermittent Falls! The scenery was breathtakingly beautiful on the way up!

It took a bit convincing for the kids to climb to the top but they all did it in the end and it was gorgeous overlooking the waterfall!

And on the way back we passed Janee Falls!  It looked like we were in Hawaii, so much greenery and pretty blue water!

Next post, our 4th of July in Star Valley!
