Arkansas 2016!

We drove across the country to visit my sister, Karly and her family. It's a 20 hour drive, so we split it into 2 days. They did really great. We told them if they didn't ask us "How much longer?" or "When will we get there?" we would buy them a surprise. And guess what? They didn't ask us once the whole time! I was shocked they didn't forget and still ask us. They kept busy watching movies, coloring, eating snacks and reading books.

We saw some beautiful sites on the way. The scenery wasn't all that bad!

Rest stops included finding parks to let the kids run around and play for a bit!

The kids were so excited to get to the hotel! Addie kept asking "Is that real?" about everything! For example, "Is that tv real mom?" "Is that a real pool?" "Is that a real hotel?" It was pretty funny, I'm not sure why she thought everything was fake?

After we ate dinner we spent some time at the pool! Swimming is a must at a hotel!

We were so happy to finally arrive in Arkansas! We did so many fun things! Here are some of the highlights!

Tanyard Creek, such a pretty trail to walk on and hike around.

We went swimming which felt wonderful since it was so HOT & HUMID!

They had fun at the splash park one afternoon!

And ice-cream afterwards!

We also went to this fun children's museum called Amazuem, the kids LOVED it! I forgot my camera, so here's a few pictures from my phone.

And there was lots of playing and spoiling at their house!

Our drive home was as beautiful as our drive there. The kids did just as good, but they were so happy to get out of the car once we got home!

Love you Hodge Family, hope we can do it again!

Utah Valley Half Marathon!

On June 11th, Benton and I ran the Utah Valley Half Marathon! Linda came into town to watch our kids while we completed the race, thank goodness for grandmas! We had to wake up at 3am to get dressed and then drive down to Provo. The bus took us up to the starting line at 4am. We had to sit until race time which started at 6am. On the way up our bus driver hit the metal barrier driving up the canyon. It was a huge greyhound bus and he obviously miscalculated how close he was to the side of the highway, the whole bus screamed since it was a bit startling. If we weren't awake already we for sure were when that happened.

It was a bit cold at the starting line but thankfully we could snuggle together and try to find a spot near the fire pit. There was a beautiful sunrise which made the waiting not so bad.

Benton and I ran together the whole time. Benton just ran at a slower pace since he wanted to complete it together. I felt great until mile 11 and then my legs were ready to be done. We finished in 2 hours 20 minutes. I was so proud of us both for training for the half and completing it together! Love you Benton!

Bridal Veil Falls

On Cambree's birthday we spent the afternoon with our GG at the waterfall in Provo Canyon. We brought a picnic and let the kids run around and find bugs and play in the water. Lincoln even was able to walk for a bit.

I try to remember to let them wear water shoes so they can climb and play in the water. They are always looking for beautiful rocks, its one of their favorite things to do!

It was a beautiful day to spend outside celebrating our Cambree!
