Memorial Weekend

We began our weekend with a date! It was our 12 year anniversary on the 27th so we went to Market Street Grill to celebrate. Chelsie was kind and offered to babysit our kids. We had a wonderful time at dinner. We've been dieting for months now and it was nice to take the night off and eat whatever we wanted. I sure am one lucky girl to have met such a wonderful guy back in Jr High School, who would have guessed we would fall in love and get married?

On Memorial day we attended the Race for Grief for our little Miss Allie. It was our fourth year going to the race and I feel motivated and I push myself harder while I train for the 10k. I want her to be proud of us and it pushes me to do better and be a better person. This year Benton and I ran it together and we finished in 61 minutes. I was proud of our time and I am lucky to have him running by my side. A BIG thank you to all who came and supported us! And I know there were others who couldn't come but sent us well wishes and we appreciate all that we received! We sure do love and miss you Allie!

Afterwards we went and visited her at her grave. I know I've said it before and I know I'll say it again but I wish cemeteries were always filled with flowers like they are on Memorial Day, it's just a beautiful sight.

Cambree's dance recital

Cambree has been in dance since the beginning of January. She goes with her friend who lives in our neighborhood and has enjoyed going every Monday. It's a smaller class, but the girls have had a blast. We got to see a bit of what they learned yesterday by going to a small recital in her teachers backyard. It was 70's themed and they all looked adorable!

You know me, I of course had a mini-photo session beforehand! She looked so pretty!

My favorite part is that she waved to Benton and I about twenty different times. She was just so excited, made me happy. Great job Cam, you did awesome!

Rockport

First camping trip of the season happened last weekend. The first night, Benton camped with the girls on his own, while Lincoln and I had a girls overnighter with some of my neighbor friends. Us girls plus Lincoln stayed in Park City. We ate pizza and ice-cream, stayed up till 1:30am talking and watching a movie, and the next day we shopped till we dropped. It was just what I needed!

I then joined Benton and the girls Saturday afternoon. We took a little walk by the lake and watched all the gofers pop their heads up from their homes in the ground. The girls thought it was so fun to see them go in and out of their holes.

There was a small hill by our campground, where Addie became a daredevil and rode her bike down the hill. They ended up doing it over and over until they eventually biffed it and fell over. It was fun while it lasted!

And we can't go camping and not roast smores! It's what I live for while camping! As you can see, Lincoln left a bunch of crumbs on his little cheeks, I think he enjoyed it the most!

We sure are excited to try new camping spots this summer!

Nut Allergy Confirmed

This little man had an appointment up at Primary Childrens Hospital today to see an allergist. Back in the middle of January I gave him some peanut butter (which his pediatrician recommended at his 6 month check up), low and behold he got a big rash around his mouth within minutes of eating the peanut butter. I made an appointment months ago but they were completely booked until May.

Lincoln hates the doctor more than any of my other kids. He was all smiles in the waiting room, but the moment he saw the nurse it was screaming and tears rolling down his cheeks. I'm shocked he can remember even going to the doctor, but he must because he freaks out the moment we sit in that little room.

They pricked his little back with different types of nuts and waited 15 minutes to see how he reacted. Unfortunately it showed he was allergic to peanuts and tree nuts (pecans, almonds, cashews, etc.) We have to avoid anything that says "made in a factory with peanuts or may contain peanuts". So sadly, he cannot eat his favorite M&M's any longer. We have a prescription to get an EpiPen and we have to carry it with us wherever he goes. They also took his blood and we hope to find out more about his allergy from his results. I will make sure I post what we find out.

I know I have a learning curve ahead of me, making sure everyone around him knows of his allergy. But I will do all I can to not have him exposed and have an allergic reaction now that we know he is allergic to peanuts and other nuts. Love our Link, peanut allergy and all!

Tracy Aviary

With this beautiful Spring weather we met up with my mom to enjoy the outdoors and visit all the birds. Addie thought ahead and brought her binoculars with us. It was the perfect afternoon.
As you can tell we enjoyed it quite a bit and some of us were pretty dang tired afterwards.

365 Days old

How is my baby already 1? I have enjoyed every second with him this past year. Really soaked it all in, knowing he was our last and final baby. He is such a sweet boy to complete our family, we are so lucky to have such wonderful children.

Lincoln went in on his big birthday to the doctor. Stats and shots were due. He cried real tears when the nurse just looked at him, so I'm sure you can imagine how he acted when she actually touched him. Let's just say he didn't like them one bit. He is looking good, we have an appointment with an allergist next month because he got a rash when he ate peanuts a few months ago. Hopefully it's nothing. We also have to take him to the eye doctor, they said one of his pupils wasn't lining up right, our doctor said it isn't a big deal and they can usually fix it with an eye patch for a bit till he corrects his vision.

He weighed 19.9 lbs which is in the 25 percentile for his age. And he is 29 7/8 inches tall which is in the 50th percentile for height. He's healthy otherwise!

Lincoln sleeps with his hands beneath him. Usually I find his bum curled up, like a little baby after his nap.

And once he's awake he's as happy as could be.

The snuggliest little baby we've ever had and we LOVE it!

He still loves his food. I didn't strap him into his high chair the other day because I was washing his straps and he climbed up and fell out of his seat. I was helping Addie in the other room and heard a loud clunk. It was scary and I learned my lesson. My girls wouldn't have ever thought to do that. Boys love to climb!

His cry is beyond adorable.

He really has the sweetest disposition.

You can still find him busily making messes wherever he goes...

And he's already trying to stand up by himself. I'm not ready for him to be more independent, it just means he's getting that much older.

Lincoln loves playing with his sisters but he's starting to get a bit of attitude with them. He screeches when he doesn't like what they are doing to him. It's a good cue for me to intervene.

And he loves getting a bottle fed to him.

We adore our Lincoln and are so glad he's apart of our family. Happy first birthday sweet little man, we love you!
