Mantua Reservoir

We went fishing for the first time on Benton's dads boat this morning. Dave is a professional fisherman, he attends tournaments and wins prizes for the fish he catches. Cambree was thrilled he was taking us out on his boat, she's been talking about it since he got it last year. We woke up early and made our way up to Mantua Reservoir, we went there since it's a smaller lake and the fish are littler and easier for our kids to catch.

The girls, especially Cambree enjoyed going fast on his boat.

The lake was quiet and it was a beautiful day to fish. Benton kept catching the same fish over and over again (or so it seemed). Addie did pretty well being in a small enclosed area, however after about 4 hours she was done. I was impressed she lasted that long.

We had a lot of fun and hope to join him again! Thanks Dave for a great day!

Two Creek

This past week we drove up to Idaho to spend the night at Benton's Aunt, Kathy's cabin. On the drive up there was this beautiful field, so I had to pull over and take a picture with the girls and myself. Thank goodness I wasn't driving alone't, so that I could be in the picture.

Their cabin is absolutely beautiful.

We let the kids run free, eat ice-cream before dinner, fish with their grandpa and great aunt in their pond, and stay up late. It was the perfect visit.

Thanks Kathy and Allen for the wonderful visit, you guys are such great hosts!

Outdoorsy

I would say I'm fairly outdoorsy. I like to be outside, I like to do activities outside. Would I say I was a camper? Well, I couldn't answer that very well because I have never really been camping. I know, shocking. Benton grew up camping and pitched the idea of buying a camper a while back. We've been discussed it a lot and decided it was something we would enjoy doing with our girls while they are young, it's something they could grow up doing.

Sadly Benton's Tacoma just couldn't pull the trailer we had our hearts set on. So we sold his Tacoma and bought a bigger truck, an F150. We bought the truck before my sister arrived and have loved it so far.

This morning we did our walk through of the trailer and brought it home. It sleeps 6 comfortably and we love it so far. The girls love it as well and I think they are pretty excited to go camping.

We've got a couple camping trips planned in a couple weeks and we can't wait! Here's to becoming outdoorsy!

Earl Family Visit

The day my sister left, Benton's sister, Kattie and her family came into town from Iowa. Pretty much it's a non-stop party for us. It was nice having them stay with us for a couple days before they went to stay with another sibling.

It was our first time meeting our nephew, Oliver. He's so squishy and cute.

We had a dinner party at my house with Benton's dad's side of the family. It was fun all getting together, it's been way too many years since we were all together.

After dinner, the kids raced and rode their bikes in the front yard. Cohen, their oldest who is only 6 is crazy on his bike. No fear, he was doing stunts that were scaring me. I guess that's what happens when you have 3 girls versus 3 boys. I literally had to close my eyes because of his tricks.

The next day we met everyone at a park in North Ogden to let the kids play on a giant slip n' slide. Well it use to be a billboard but they've figured a way to make it into a giant slip n' slide. The kids loved it, I mean who wouldn't love a ginormous slip n' slide?

They are here for one more week, so stay tuned for some more fun events we've got planned!
