We went to This is the Place Monument with my mother even though we had gone the week prior. My mom wanted to go and see the baby animals while they were still there. So why not? My kids loved it the first time and the second time certainly did not disappoint.
I had my sister capture this moment of Addie and myself. I never have someone to take a picture of how Addie snuggles with me. She lays her head down on my shoulder and always puts her arms straight down near my chest. Its one of the most tender moments that I have with her. She also does it with Benton and it never gets old. I hope she continues to do it for a long time.
My sister, Chelsie and her kids joined as well.
We played with the baby chicks and ducks again as well as rode on the ponies. The girls had a blast and I'm sure we will be back soon enough!

Pictures of the day
Cambree says often that she wants to be big and grow up like me. I on the other hand tell her she needs to stay little as long as possible. I can relate to her though because I can remember being little and wanting to be big. Once your grown up you finally understand the carefreeness of your youth.
I love days where we have nothing planned and so we do what we'd like. Here's a glimpse of my girls this morning playing around.
And then us later this afternoon.
I am lucky & I am happy to be a stay at home mommy and take care of my children every single day.

Happy Easter
Addie woke up with a fever on Easter, so I didn't take too many pictures of her because she was really clingy and mostly crying. So sad when they are sick, especially on holidays.
The Easter bunny has always hidden our kids Easter baskets. Cambree enjoyed running around searching for hers, Addie wasn't really in the mood.
Later on I took some pics of the girls, Cambree was wearing her new shirt the Easter bunny gave her. As you can see, Addie still wasn't feeling well.
Later on we ate at my parents house, which I forgot my camera but we all enjoyed ourselves.
I hope you all had a great Easter as well.

This is the Place Monument
Yesterday my sister and I took our kids to This is the Place Monument in Salt Lake. Benton has been out of town since Sunday morning and won't return till Friday night, so we needed to get out of our house. The time seems to pass faster when we have plans and are out and about doing something.
Cambree still has no fear with holding animals. She kept holding the baby chicks like parrots. Instead of holding it in her hands and once the chick was settled down, she would place it on her shoulder or arm. I was surprised how long the chicks would actually sit on her, instead of jump off. Addie wouldn't hold them but she didn't mind giving them a little hug.
Both girls loved the pony rides. I actually think Addie liked it more. She had a smile the whole entire time. One of the times I let Cambree go first and Addie threw a fit and started balling her eyes out because she wanted a turn. I guess that's how our future will be, fighting over who gets to go first. I didn't think it would start this early with Addie, I guess she wants to be just like her big sister.
They loved petting all the animals, riding on the trains and playing in the different houses. And I thought this little piggy was adorable. I usually don't like looking at the pigs, but this one was too cute.
Only 2 more days till Benton returns!

A night I will never forget
Last night was a night that will go down in my book as a mom that I will never forget. Let me start from the beginning...since we moved to our Fruit Heights house, Cambree has struggled sleeping in her own bed. Yes, it's been one month shy of 12 months since we moved in. So I decided to give her an incentive. She's been asking to get her ears pierced for a little while now, so I decided if she sleeps in her bed for one whole week all by herself she can get her ears pierced. We tried it a couple weeks ago and she only made it two nights. I really didn't think she could do it.
Well this past week she slept in her bed for seven nights straight in her own bed. So a promise is a promise. We took her to get her ears pierced last night and on our way she said "This is the best day ever!" She was beyond excited.
We got there and they talked to her about it and she was still on-board for getting them pierced. That all changed once she got her first ear pierced. She cried and said she didn't want the other ear pierced. Well that wasn't going to work, I didn't want her looking like a pirate. So for the next 3 hours it was us trying over and over to get her to pierce her other ear. It really was the anticipation of knowing what was going to happen that she was afraid of. Her other ear that had already gotten pierced didn't hurt anymore, she just didn't like the gun they used to pierce her ear.
I, as well as other shoppers did EVERYTHING in our powers to convince her to get her other ear pierced. I had strangers showing her movie clips and singing her songs from the movie Frozen. Strangers gave her words of encouragement, telling her how they had gotten their ears pierced and how it didn't hurt anymore. Strangers held her hand. Strangers even tried holding her down to help me. It was beyond ridiculous. I bought her a pony, which got her ears pierced as well. The pony who was named Diamond was brave and didn't cry when she got her ears pierced. She watched another girl get her ears pierced. And in the end, the store closed with us inside. I put up my flag of defeat and left with a crying three year old as well as a crying 31 year old. We were both frustrated.
So, we had to go back to Claire's today. Since Benton left out of town this morning, I brought along my trusty girlfriend, Stephanie to help assist me with both girls. I talked to the manager who didn't work last night and explained the situation. We again tried talking to Cambree about how it would only hurt for a minute, to close her eyes so she couldn't see what was going to happen. Talking didn't work. So it came down to us pinning her down. I held onto her arms and head, Stephanie held onto her legs since she was kicking and thrashing around and the manager held her head and forced her to get her other ear pierced.
So after about 4 hours spent at Claire's BOTH of her ears are now pierced. And she's loving it and acts like nothing happened. I learned my lesson for Addie and won't attempt that again for a very, very long time.
Before with only one ear pierced.
After with both!

Another Sunny Day
Since this weather is so fabulous, we are living outside. We visited with my sister and her kids today and took them to the park to play. I'm thinking this week is a preview to what our summer will be like this year. I'm pretty excited and I think the girls are too!

My wild child
While Addie naps, Cambree and I have been playing outside. She's such a silly little girl. I'm trying to capture all her craziness while she's still little because I feel like soon enough she won't be little any longer and I know I'll miss my wild three year old.

Children's Museum
We drove down to the Gateway to spend the morning at the Childrens Museum. Both girls had a blast and were running from one thing to the next. Cambree's favorite activities were playing with this baby doll and playing grocery store. Addie loved playing in the water and going up and down the stairs and slide. It was such a fun day playing at the museum and with GG.
Rain rain, go away
Our March was beautiful. Sunny skies, perfect weather to play outside and then the end of March came and so did the rain. We were so use to the pleasant weather that once it started raining, all my kids could do was stare outside.
I almost can't remember what we did all winter long, being stuck inside. They both started getting a little stir crazy and wild.
I guess what they say, April showers bring May flowers is true because we sure have gotten our share of rain and snow this past week!

Daddy Daughter Date Night
This past week, Benton took Cambree down to Salt Lake to see the Jazz play. They rode the train down and got concession food for dinner. He even bought her a Jazz dress. They didn't get home till almost 11pm and Cambree was still wired from all the fun.
The night before they went on their date, I took this picture of them together. Cambree was pretending to be Benton. It was her idea to put on the glasses and hat to look like him. She was being really serious while acting like him. It was adorable watching her be like her daddy, she loves him so much. I can't wait till Addie's old enough to join them!
