Pumpkin Carving

Don't you love all the fall activities during this time of year? I'm not a big fan of cold weather but I sure do love getting together with family, eating and socializing with one another. It was an evening of craziness with kids running around laughing while us adults talked with one another. It was perfect!

Lots of concentration goes on while carving pumpkins.

They all turned out adorable. Cambree aka Benton carved Bert out and he looks so cute sitting on our front porch

"Let's go jump in the trees"

Since the leaves have been falling off the trees, Cambree has been more and more excited to " go jump in the trees". We, as in Benton blew the leaves onto our grass and raked them into a pile for the girls to play in. I couldn't resist (like usual) capturing their expressions while playing in the trees.

Does anybody else wish as much as I do to return to my carefree childhood?

Hernia Repair

After my pregnancy with the twins, I noticed a bulge right above my belly button. At my 6 week checkup after their birth I asked my doctor about it and she told me it was a hernia from my pregnancy and I would need to get it fixed if it started bothering me. Unfortunately there isn't another way to fix it besides surgery. During the past few months it was really bothering me. I went in and they told me I needed to get the surgery to fix it otherwise it can be fatal if it gets strangulated. I kept putting it off for multiple reason but after 5 days of pain I decided to go in and not risk it anymore.

It was a quick surgery, I was in and out in about 4 hours.

My lovely friend and neighbor from Illinois sent me these beautiful flowers. They are an uplifting sight to look at. Much love to you Barb and Chuck!

Unfortunately that same night, Cambree got the flu. She started throwing up at 10:30pm and didn't stop till the next morning at 6am. The only way I could get her to sleep in her bed was to bribe her. Honestly I didn't care, my belly hurt from the surgery and I didn't want a mess in my bed. So the next morning since she stayed in her room, she got a telescope and pirate set that she's been asking for. I think she makes a pretty cute pirate.

And just because she's cute I had to include Miss Addie who is doing fine. She had the flu on Sunday and was the culprit to as why Cambree was sick. Thankfully that's all behind us. I had to take a picture because I love how she holds her little feet on the highchair all propped up. Such a doll baby.

I'm feeling much better today and I am glad the surgery and hernia pain is over!

Fish Farm

I moved away from Utah when I was 6. We moved back when I was 13, at an awkward age. I missed out on having a close relationship with my cousins. We were gone during those vital years when you build a foundation for a good friendship. I'm thankful my kids live near their cousins. I want them to have strong relationships with one another. I love to see my girls interact and feel completely comfortable with their extended family.

It's the small things like going to the Fish Farm that brings so much joy to me and my kids and hopefully their cousins.

Reanna is a sweetheart with both my girls. Cambree loves to take her off and go do girly things with her.

Aimee has two boys as well which are funny in their own ways and just go along with what Cambree barks at them.

It was our first time at the fish farm and we all LOVED it.

Cambree was so excited while trying to catch a fish. She kept giggling. She was the first one to catch a fish and all she wanted to do was pet it and hold it.

Addie felt the same. She kept reaching in trying to get it. Thankfully for the fish, Addie couldn't get a hold of it.

We are hoping to go back soon! Love the whole Maughan family!
