So tired

Cambree said to Benton this afternoon, "I'm tired, I need to take a nap." And she did for almost 2 hours, I wish she did that more often!

Sledding

We feel so lucky to have the house and yard that we do. I am loving our little hill in the backyard. My sister wanted to come try it out, so we all went sledding one afternoon.

However, Addie still is not a fan of being outside in the cold. She hardly cracks a smile, so serious.

Cambree on the other hand, LOVES it. She is my mini-model, I cannot get over how photogenic she is. I really love taking her picture.

This is little Emma who is 2. Her and Cambree tried sledding on their belly's instead of using a sled, Cambree called it "being a turtle".

Spencer went down and up, down and up, over and over again. He was a good sport when he crashed as well.

We sure do love living close to our family and spending time together during the holidays!

Christmas!

Thankfully both girls slept in till 8am. When Cambree woke up I asked her if she knew what today was, her reply "what?". I guess she had forgotten. I really don't think she knows it's one day, rather a time of year. I guess as she gets older she will understand more.

Cambree got what she had been asking for, a T-Rex. She was pretty excited and she has been taking it everywhere with her, in the car, eating, watching tv, and even when she goes to bed it sleeps with her. Overall I think it was a success. I was spoiled and got some photo editing software and I've spent hours learning how to use Lightroom5 as well as editing photos. So you may see some improvements with my photos, which I am really excited for!

 

 

 

 

Later on in the afternoon we went over to Papa David's and Grandma Marie's for dinner. As usual Marie did not disappoint, she is one of the best cooks I know. They spoiled Cambree and got her a pink Convertible. Cambree has driven it but has been a little apprehensive. She presses the gas for 2 seconds and lets go. Whenever she runs into the snow she looks terrified like she broke it or something. After she drove it around she said "That was the best thing ever!" I know what we will be doing once it gets warm!

 

 

Merry Christmas friends!

Christmas Eve

We have been busy going from one place to another. Every Christmas Eve we celebrate by going to Nanny Linda's and Papa Tony's for breakfast. I love all the commotion, kids running around, and the food.

Later on we went to my cousins for dinner with my family. We were suppose to wear "ugly sweaters" but I didn't get enough time or notice to find one, so my family looked normal.

 

I love the holidays and having more reason to see our families. I just love them all to pieces!

Snow storms

We've had some snow days and there is more to come tomorrow. I've canceled my plans two days in a row, I just don't want to drive in it. And I'd rather stay at home with my girls and be lazy, so that's what we are doing. Yesterday we colored in the morning and Cambree dressed up in some new play outfits that my friend gave to me.

 

 

 

Once Addie was down for a nap, Cambree and I ventured outside and played in the snow. Our trees look really pretty full of snow. We built a snowman which ended up looking a little funny because I couldn't roll it in balls. So instead he's a blob of snow, thankfully Cambree doesn't mind. We also did a little sledding in our backyard.

 

 

 

 

 

I'm enjoying these cold snowy days staying home.

Date night

Since the holidays are upon us, I thought it would be fun to go out to dinner with Benton's sisters and their husbands. Sadly two of his sisters live out of state so it was only us three couples but we still enjoyed our time together. We dropped our kids off at Nanny Linda's house since she is in town for a couple weeks. Both my girls weren't sad to see us go, since they both get spoiled while they are with Nanny and Papa Tony.

 

 

We ended up at Twig's which is my new favorite restaurant. I always enjoy the company of his family but really they feel like my own family. I love them all to pieces.

 

 

 

 

Hope everyone is having a joyful holiday. It's hard to believe Christmas is only one week away! I'm ready, you?!

And he's off...

Benton had to go back to State Farm's Headquarters in Illinois this week. It's sad because yesterday was his birthday and we couldn't celebrate it with him. But thankfully our old neighbors, Chuck and Barb were there to spoil him. We are so blessed to have them in our lives. They are like family to us. Chuck and Barb, THANK YOU for being so kind to our family. We think the world of you both.

Happy Birthday Benton! He is the best man that I know. He takes care of our family more than you all know. There's no doubt in my mind he wouldn't do anything for us. I swear he's a better person every year that passes. He is my best friend and I wouldn't have been able to survive this past year and a half without him. Words cannot express how much I love this man. Happy Birthday babe, we all love you very much!

Since he left the weather here has been awfully cold. It makes me shiver just thinking about going outside. So we've been staying in and playing a lot.

 

 

 

 

However, we did brave it on the first day he left to play in the snow for a little while. Addie didn't want to be let down. She started crying as soon as I put her in the snow. But once she was in my arms the tears stopped. Cambree on the other hand is off running around, making snow angels, throwing the snow, and rolling around in it. And somehow Roxy escaped out of the house and joined us for a minute, which Cambree thought was hysterical.

 

 

 

 

Only 3 more days till Daddy's home!

All I want for Christmas is...

Last week we bundled the girls up and headed out to meet Santa.

 

Luckily he came to a nursery right by our house. Addie wasn't too thrilled to sit on his lap. One look at him and the tears rolled out. But Cambree on the other hand had business to complete. She sat on his lap and blurted out "I want a T-Rex." No small chat, hello's or introducing herself, she made it clear what she was there to do and that was making sure he knew what to get her. So as long as she's good, I guess we all know what she will be getting on the 25th of this month!
