Market Street

Last night Benton and I went to Market Street for dinner. It ended up working out best to go on a week night rather than the weekend so Chelsie watched Cambree for us.

It is so nice to go to dinner just us 2! Cambree is at the age now where she isn't much fun to take out for dinner. She doesn't want to sit in the high chair and a lot of the time it's too close to her bed time so she's just fussy. I miss the days when she would just sit in her car seat and was just along for the ride. So thanks Chels for watching her!

Our food was delicious! You can't go wrong with petite filet mignon. SO yummy! Oh, if you ever go there...you must get their Au Gratin Potatoes, they are to die for!

Thanks Bent for the night out!

Petite

I took Cambree to her 15 month check up last week and the stats are in!

Her weight is 18 lbs, which is in the 0% for her age.

And her height is 31 inches which is in the 60% for her age.

Her new pediatrician said her weight wasn't anything for us to worry about as long as she's doing good in the other areas, which she is.

Cambree is starting to throw fits. She has only done it a couple of times, but it doesn't make me excited for when she will do it on a regular basis. She also says "No No" to about anything. It's driving us crazy, so Benton & I are trying really hard to not say N.O. Hopefully she'll drop that bad habit soon.
I've tried to take a picture when she's getting annoyed with me, this is as good as I've gotten so far.
She's bugged, can't you tell?

Most of the time she is a happy girl, who loves to laugh...

She is such a silly girl. I love her little laugh!

She can say "Mama, Dada, wow, uh oh, thank you, ball, banana, see ya, hello, bird, hey, no, yes, and what's that?" She also can make animal noises if you are looking in a book, she can neigh like a horsey, roar like a dinosaur or lion, and ssss like a snake. She's at such a fun age!

She watches Mickey Mouse Clubhouse every morning, she absolutely loves it! The other day I was at Costco and saw these huge Mickey and Minnie stuffed animals, Cambree was quite excited.

All I can say is we love her to pieces! She makes me smile every single day.
Love you Cambree!

Nanny Sleeps over!

Last week we had the pleasure of Nanny Linda staying the night! It was such a delight to have family come spend some time with us! I picked her up Wed morning and off we went to Kneaders in Layton. If you haven't been, it's worth trying! We went to the Nordstrom Rack before going out to dinner where we met Benton.

Cambree was excited to color at dinner. It didn't last long though because she wanted to eat the crayons :)

Once we got home, we all sat in front of the TV to relax. We didn't end up thinking about where Linda would sleep, we just assumed she would sleep in the office on our blow up mattress. As Benton was blowing it up, Linda realized she wouldn't be able to get up from the mattress (she has recently had both of her knees fully reconstructed). So Benton ended up sleeping in the office and Linda and I had a sleepover in my bed. My back has been bothering me for about a week and a half now, so it worked well for Linda and I.

The next morning, Linda and I got ready to shop! We headed up to the Park City outlets, my favorite!

We got some good things. Thankfully Cambree was a great shopper, who ended up falling asleep...

I can honestly say one of the best things about living in Utah is being near family and being able to have a sleepover whenever you want, have a friend to go out to dinner/lunch with and a girlfriend to go shopping with. Thanks Nanny Linda for coming and spending time with us, we love you! Hopefully we can do it again soon!

Homemade Salsa

I LOVE homemade salsa. You just can't compare homemade to store bought. I was so excited to go to Benton's dads house to make it this year. Last year I didn't make it, so I was ready to make it again. It is a process, but it is well worth it! Thankfully Marie and Dave let me use their wonderful work space in their basement to can the salsa. And it's so nice to have Marie's help, rather than just me, it's much faster that way.

All of the chopping took us an hour, so once it was all stirred up, it was ready to sit on the stove to reduce...

As you can see, I'm thrilled to have homemade salsa again :)

While it was reducing, Miss Cambree was spoiled by her grandparents. They pretty much would let her get away with anything. She LOVES to sit on grandpa's lap and eat M&M's...

Thanks Dave and Marie for all your help and letting us hang out with you all day!

Sleepover!

Yes, I still enjoy a sleepover with my girlfriends from time to time! My cute friend Steph's husband was out of town, so it was a great excuse for me to spend the night at her house! We hadn't seen each other since I had moved back, so I was delighted to spend all day with her. And yes, we are like kids who stay up till 1am just talking and laughing. Oh and yes, our kids woke up at 6am...so refreshing for us ;)

After we put the kids to bed, we got to serious work! Our ingredients to make homemade jam, yummy!

The cooks...(Yes, we both have the same apron. We didn't know it til I put mine on, we must be friends!)

Gees, it's exhausting stirring, but Steph sure looks cute :)

And for those of you who don't know, it takes only about 45 minutes total to make this jam...it's so easy! You should give it a try!

Thanks Steph for the fun times!

We Remember...

9/11 seems just like yesterday to me. I think everyone remembers where they were when they found out about the Twin Towers being hit. I was on my way to work at America First. I remember the awful feeling in the air as I walked through the doors and heard on the TV what had happened. It made me sick. I am the type of person that can live in denial and not think about what is happening because it stresses me out too much. If I were to have thought about it then like I should have I probably would have had an anxiety attack.

I now can watch and hear about what happened and not feel like I am going to panic. Benton and I watched the movie they aired on Sunday night showing what was happening inside the towers. I can't even imagine what they all went through. After the movie, they mentioned the Healing Field in Sandy. I decided I should go and give my respects to all of the men and women who sacrificed their lives on that day.

The Utah Healing Field display commemorates the tragic loss that took place 10 years ago with a display of more than 3000 American flags—one for each victim.

I am a visual person and seeing how many flags/people that really were killed was overwhelming. For each flag they had a narration of each individual. I am glad we spent the time to go and read about those who died that day.

I am sure glad to have Cambree in my life and to be a mommy.

I had to give a kiss to Cambree and tell her how very much I loved her. I am so lucky to be able to see her grow up. It brings tears to my eyes thinking of all those who couldn't.

We will never forget about those who were lost on September 11th.
