Fun in the SUN!

My sister and I decided to go to the pool one last time before summer ended. We ate lunch and got all geared up to go, pulled into the Roy Aquatic Center and low and behold they were CLOSED! We couldn't believe it, it's still August and 95 degrees outside, dang pool! So we ended up driving over to Layton Surf n Swim, it had been over a decade since I had been there, we got there at 2pm and our luck it closed at 3pm, but it was still nice to have an hour in the pool. To our surprise my cute sister in law, Kattie was there with her family with a bunch of friends...it was great running into them as well!
So sweet sleeping...

Cambree's Room

I just realized that I never posted pictures of Cambree's room! We use to have our guest bedroom in this room, which worked out great because a purple wall works great for a little girl! It was actually pretty hard though to find bedding that matched the already painted wall...everything for a girl is pink! But I finally found some bedding that went well in her room from Babies R Us.
So here's her room, it's so fun to decorate!

I love her crib and her matching dresser, which works as her changing table...

This rocking chair was my great grandma's...I love having old furniture, it means so much to me...It's neat to think who else was rocked in this chair!

And of course we have a closet FULL of clothes, she is so much fun to dress!

It'll be fun to see how as she grows older how her room will change...I'm sure she'll have her own opinions, but right now mine is the only one that counts!

The perfect walk...

I have LOVED being home this summer and being a mommy! One of my favorite things to do lately is go on long walks...between 2.5-3 miles. We are so lucky to have trails 1/2 mile away from our house, I absolutely love it!
Here are a few things I see along my way...it's a really pretty walk!

Cambree is so sweet, she sleeps pretty much the whole time. If she's not sleeping she just sits in her stroller and enjoys the ride!

Rub a dub dub, my little ducky in the tub

One of my favorite things to do with Cambree is give her a bath! Her face is hilarious when we first stick her in her tub. I try to warn her that she is going to get wet, but without fail the moment we stick her in her tub she holds her breath and then starts panting, it is so funny. It shocks her every single time. Once the initial shock passes she LOVES the bath. She sits there and kicks her little legs the whole time, she never cries in the bath.
Cambree in shock, she looks as if she's asking for help...

A family event when she has her bath, even Roxy is there to watch...

All settled in enjoying herself...

Once she's all clean my favorite part is to snuggle up with her in her bath towel. Nothing's better than a clean smelling baby!

In this last picture, she's all tuckered out! She has her bath right before bed, it settles her down for the night. I can't wait for nights that she gets her bath!

Update...

We are doing great here at the Carnahan residence! Having a baby really does change your whole life. I was always worried about having a baby just because I loved the relationship I had just with Benton. Bringing a baby into an already happy marriage was a scary thought for me. It seemed to me that married couples who had kids just fought about their children and were stressed out because of them. Benton and I rarely fought so I thought, gees why bring in a child and cause a bunch of tension? But to my delight we are doing fabulously and wouldn't go back to how it was before! Don't get me wrong we have had arguments now that we wouldn't have had if we hadn't had Cambree, but she's worth it. Our marriage has just grown stronger having Cambree. We have learned more about each other now that we are parents, and I thought we knew each other pretty dang well.

I really want to keep a loving relationship with Benton now that we have our little girl. So we decided to leave Cambree for the first time and go out on an actual date! I left her in the loving hands of my sister Chelsie, who I trust obviously with all my heart. I wasn't worried for a second, I know Chelsie loves her as her own.

Here we are at Chelsie's house leaving to go on our 1st date night post baby...

We had a ton of fun and need to make sure we have date nights at least monthly!

Now on to Cambree who is 2 months old! Seriously, I don't know where the time has gone. She is so much fun, I could sit and stare at her all day long and not get sick of it. She has started to coo and caa...translation...she makes the cutest little noises. I like to believe she is talking to me, so we sit and hold conversations, which is so much fun!

We went to her 2 month check up and she weighed 10.5 lbs so she is in the 50th percentile for weight and she is 23.25 inches long, which means she is in the 90th percentile for height. Who knew we'd have such a tall baby?

My father in law bought her the sweetest little outfit, she finally can fit in it...I love the big purple flower, too cute!!!

Family Fun!

This past week my sister and our little nephew Reid flew out from Arkansas to meet Cambree. It was so much fun to have my family stay at my house! My parents also came up from St. George. We did so much stuff, ate out for lunch at different places, went to Ikea, shopped, got pedicures, cooked, swam and much more.

It was hard to say goodbye when they all left. Now it is only Chelsie & I that are here in Utah. My parents are moving in a couple weeks to Georgia, so sad! So it was nice to have one last time with everyone here in Utah, because who knows when that will happen again? We will all probably be all together again in Georgia, it's hard to get everyone together since we are all spread out. I couldn't be luckier with the family that I have, I love them so much. Here are some photos of what we did...
